Chinese is now Steam's most popular language, according to its hardware survey. Soon Steam will have no freedom and will be full of P2W games and no respect for human rights.

That is nothing new, has been that way for nearly 3 years.
Chinese has long been the largest group of users on Steam.
Which makes sense with a population of 2 billions+.
But they also mainly stick to FTP games and some pay ones like PUBG.

Also Valve is a privately owned company, they have no stock so they cant be bought.
China has zero influence on Steam.
You should worry way more about EPIC which is owned to a large degree by Chinese Tech Giants like Tencent.

Yes. Valve partnered with Perfect World to create a client for the Chinese.

Amazing. Is it any different or just a Chinese version of the Global client?

I fail to see how the most used language on steam will determine "freedom" and "no respect for human rights".

It's just like the regular Steam client except without basic human rights and it's in Chinese.

Limited number of games. They can only sell those approved by the Chinese Government. I read it was only having 40 games at launch.

They likely have to comply with Chinese laws as well, in their community forums and such.

Who's more against free speech? Steam forum mods or Chinese dictatorship?
All negative opinions are censored on Steam right now.

Forum moderation and free speech are two different things.

Opinions are fine, insults are not. There is a big difference between the two.

As I have never been to China or used a forum from there, I would have no idea what it is like.

So, censorship is fine as long you agree with it? Not free speech.

Some people think different opiniosn are insults. All opinions are fine, as long you agree with Steam and the mods. For example, if you disagree with something, people insulting with is fine but if you call them fanboys you're banned.

"Censorship" does not exist here the way you think it does.

Because this forum is not an American Government run agency, you have no 'freedom' to lose here.

You do not walk into someone else's home and then complain that they ask you to behave yourself.

And if you DO that, you are even bigger of a jerk than on a forum... just something to ponder.
