No steam folder in ProgramData
I need to access a folder inside C:/ProgramData/Steam but that folder doesn't exist on my PC for some reason and apparently it's supposed to be there.

Any Ideas?

There is no Steam folder in C ProgramData on windows 7x64 either or any windows OS after windows XP
This by default as the newer OS after windows xp Microsoft changed this.
The reason being not very secure.
Modern versions of Windows limit the permissions programs have, and applications shouldn’t be able to write to system folders during normal operation.
Some applications—Steam, for example—store their settings and other data files in their Program Files directory.
It’s up to each program’s developer to choose where that program stores its data

The reason is that you did not install Steam there. That is the default installation path, amend for wherever your Steam folder is.

If you're using a 64bit OS, it will be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam by default.

I thought the default folder was just called "Program Files", not "ProgramData". Or is this a change for WIn10?

ProgramData is it's own separate folder that you don't install things to. Leave it alone.
Program Files (and Program Files x86) are the default install folders most things go to.

lol yeah OP you're confused. This is correct, except the folder you're looking for is program files x86, but that's the idea.

It's always Program Files, for 64bit OS it would be under Program Files (x86).

Ah thanks. Saw a tutorial about fixing an issue with the save system in Hitman and he was messing around in what he said was Program data, So I'm presuming he meant Program Files.
