This advice.......
But sometimes your soo hyped for a game then you are willing to pay top dollar to buy it. I did with fallout 76, dark souls III, burnout paradise remasted
they just do $ = X (insert your Currency) instead of actually adjusting the Price and then they complain that Poeple go for Keys.
They not scammy,, they business people who expect to be paid for thier work. Just like when you work, you expect to be paid don't you ?
Plus for them to stop CS keys being resold, its easy. Don't sell CD keys to resellers and force everyone too buy from your platform.
Everyone expects prices to be based off the USD and then directly converted into their currency. That's not how it works That's not how international trade has ever worked. But everyone who stumbles on this idea has the same question.
1. We're not operating under a single global currency
2. There's differences in taxes and laws between countries and that can affect prices.
3. Publishers aren't going to eat those costs for the sake of uniform pricing.
4. The value of currency flucuates, so if the cost in Shekels is changing every day so it can remain pegged to the USD, well people will complain and wonder why the price is constantly changing.
5. The differences in national and regional economies affect prices too, which is why some countries have "lower" pricing.
I mean don't take my word for it. This topic has only been asked about and discussed and explained like 100,000 times over the last 25 years. Although I don't imagine you'll be happy about the answers as the result isn't something extremely favorable to you.
the thing is im paying for a digital copy and a digital key plus its not the same for evry game.
all i realy want is more information on steam, that valve will tell me why do i pay as much as i pay.
as in what % goes to whom.
or perhaps someone with more precise information rather than the general idea.
thanks for the replay.
Never gonna happen. Local retailers also don't disclose that information to you. There is no reason to disclose that anyway.
Developers and publishers set the prices, that's why you pay as much as you pay. You want to know why the prices differ, you really should ask them.
17 % sales tax
30 % Steam cut
53 % publisher
And you are paying that much because the publisher set the price to what it is. That's all there is to it. No one will tell you how they determine what price they will ask.
edit: I feel Sry for you but the Key is out of stock now, they are selling the last Copie in the last Minutes i wrote (the Delux Edition is still available for £44.49).
Just buy it as a key as someone linked here before, compare which site has cheapest price and get there. 99% of times its gonna be cheaper than from steam store.

Devs / Pubs set the prices they want on Steam, just as they do on GOG, PSN, XBOX, etc... If you have a problem take it up with the Devs / Pubs as they're in control of the prices, they're the root of your issue, not the platform, as the platform will not bully, or make someone do something against their will, as that not how they work.
The prices you find cheaper for sale outside of Steam as Steam Keys are deals done by resellers such as humble bundle, fanatical, or etc, as they paid for a set amount of keys, or they give the cuts to the Devs / Pubs their cut, and reseller get a small cut on all the keys. Steam keys are free, and are given by Steam to the Game Dev / pub to do as they wish, and make them aware it's the Devs / pubs complete responsibility to how the Dev/pubs manage the keys, as they have complete control to revoke them, they can even sell them to someone, or etc, and Steam won't ask for a single cent from them, they won't get in their way, and will not get involved whatever the Devs/pubs choose to do with their keys.
