steam users with random numbers as their nickname

i've been seeing people with random steam numbers as their steam name. these people usually either have their steam profile set in private or they havent set up their profile yet. i've been seeing them in some competitive games like insurgency and cs:go,idk about other games. i'm wondering what is the reason behind this

They may have never changed it.

Or it could be players from China that are using their Chinese ID.

They're yet to set up their account as you've noted.

They can choose to change their name to their Steam64 ID if they want to do so.

Anyone can do it.

Maybe their nickname was forbidden and a mod / Valve employee cleared their nickname. By default it's the user's Steam ID. The nicknames of people you're talking about begin from 7, right?

Steam Support will clear their profile name if it's a string that's against content rules.

That revert it to the Steam64 ID, yes.

Also, account termination does the same thing.

It is the default avatar for every new account.

Contact support.

Your account may not be deleted, hijackers will often times change the profile name to that of the profiles steam ID
