Can someone clarify about what's happening with visual novels?

The only reason I use this is for the visual novels and I heard alot of bad news about it saying
steam is no longer adding because of the content.

Isn't most novels censored because of this?

What's going to happen with the novels I purchased?

I would like someone to clarify and to confirm this if possible. Thanks

The problem is that game makers can't differentiate between visual novels and (soft) porn. In other words, when you pick a random visual novel, chances are it's some cheap fap material.
The stuff you bought is yours, no matter it getting pulled from the store.

Visual novels are fine and still allowed on Steam.

Games that feature extreme sexual and/or controversial content on hold until Valve has tools in place for the users and developers to better deal with such content.

Steam will continue to add new visual novels.

A lot of them are censored. As far as I know you can still get titles with uncensor patches. And some new titles are no longer censored. I think people just wanted an even playing field when it came to nudity in general. A lot of non-vn titles had nudity content and Steam didn't seem to care compared to VN titles that were forced to censor themselves or be taken off the store for the same content.

Nothing will happen to the titles that are in your library.

There are uncensored titles here that have recently came out. True, most were not VN but puzzle type games.

If that were true then only the titles with extreme sexual content would of been censored. I can only think of a hand full of titles that would fit this. Most only had nipples exposed and those too were censored. Like it or not there was a double standard that needed to be addressed and they have. At least to my satisfactory.

Most the ones I have seen nipples in tended to have a lot more involved in them after applying the uncensored patch. Most time time it was far more then nipples showing.
