I recommend you read how the license works first before claiming something is “stolen”
It's not a lie. They purchased a license to the assets. The klicense allows them you use or modify the assets however they like. Publishing the asset pack as a game counts .
A better question is.. what were you doing to find that nugget?
Again refer to the Unity license agreement
Let me reiterate what that says because apparently 'reading' is not something you want to do
When you buy something on the Unity store it has a license. That license says what you can and can't do with it. 99% of unity liceses are for COMMERCIAL USE. Which means you are ALLOWED TO USE THEM IN A GAME. That's literally the entire point of the unity store. Ergo if you take something from the Unity store, and use it, that's 100% LEGAL. Because the license says its legal.
Valve will get around to those asset flip games sooner or later.
So for you it's not a problem that tons of game on this market are just templates published with a fake dev name ?
Ok lets continue that way.... goodbye steam
Better to think of it this way. If you're searching through the dollar bargain shelf... are you expecting to find quality craftsmanship?
It doesn't bother most of us because most of us don't go combing the 99% aisle. We don't even become aware of such games unless bottom-feeders like yourself mention them.
WHen a game prices itself for less than a dollar before discount... that shows how little the dev thinks anyone will pay for the game.
Again lets try READING shall we?
1) the unity store sells things
2) those things can be used in commercial products
3) a dev uses a template in a commercial product
That's literally how the store works. "fake dev name" is meaningless. They are ALLOWED to do this via the Unity license. Its only 'fake' because you can't be bothered to read the Unity Store license.
thanks for answers the problem is demand, not offers.
Bye
MAking it better? It may surprise you but peaople out there actually buy these games. Willingly.
YYou don't like games like that. FIne. But at the same time you're searching in a way that puts you in contact with them.
How did you come across that game. Unless you're searching the barrel from the bottom up you will never see those games. Those games exist for people who want cheap, easy, games to pad their count or just have fun with for a few minutes. I mean How much entertainment would you consider reaasonable for $1?
Whether or not it meets their expectations remains to be seen; as people have to pay $100 to get into the store, Valve is probably making a bit of extra cash. There's a good chance that this means more to them than having quality products in their store.
