Dx12 to Dx11

Ok so Space engineers whenever I try to open it it says error Dx11 required for this game. But, I looked and I have the NEW AND IMPROVED DX12. So apperently this udate caused allot of problems to allot of people. I'm wondering if there is a way to fix this or downgrade to Dx11?

DX 12 is backwards compatible with DX 11. You dont downgrade it .
This error message is usually caused by a missing or outdated graphics card driver, And you should be able to fix it quickly and easily.
Try rebooting.
Update your computer incase there is an update pending somewhere.
Which OS are you using?
On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, to start the Run box.
Type dxdiag and click OK.
Run a system test then look at the results for Display.

Directdraw is enabled
Is the Direct 3D acceleration enabled
AGP Texture Acceleration also enabled.

Update GPU drivers form manufacture, nvidea or ATI etc dont use Microsoft drivers.

DX12 is completely independent of DX11. The two function nothing alike, but systems which support the former should also support the latter.

However, without the information Casualsailor has asked for, we have no way of knowing whether you actually have the appropriate hardware for said support. Any PC running Windows 10 has access to the DirectX12 API, but not every graphics card can allow for it to be used.

Windows 10 may be DX12 but not your GPU!

Make sure your hardware is capable of dx11, and make sure that you got a good graphics driver installed (preferably one writen by the creator of your hardware for your specific hardware).

does anyone here know if nvidia geforce gt 230m supports dx11 or dx12?

the nvidia geforce gt 230m is too low to play SE and you will have to install the game in another PC.

3D test = 332 points

+ DirectX 10.1 only

Yours is WAY too low so you will not be able to play.
