Steam TOS and ownership of games?
Can anyone explain to me why the games, according to TOS, are owned by vavle itself..

IF this is the case... ( correct me if im wrong )

why do 60% of the games being sold on steam either being abanded by a scam developer or any other reason

If i buy a game in early access and say the game is abanded by its team.. you wont get a refund from vavle, which it should be since vavle owns the game

i @least expect if above is correct that vavle does selection of their products instead of accepting crappy games on their platform

Valve doesn't own the rights of third-party games and there is also no guarantee an early access game will ever be finished, hence why it's called "early access".

Valve doesn't own the rights to those games, those are still the IP holders property..

What that part is referring to is you don't own any game you buy on steam. You are simply purchasing a license to play them

If you bought a game in early access you got what you paid for and have no special rights to a refund outside the standard rules if development stops.

If your not willing to accept those rules do yourself and the rest of the world a favour and stop buying them.

license.... so i dont own any game just a license..

How come they get away with selling complete garbage games on their platform?

Pretty much.. early access is not pre-ordering..

You are given plenty of warning when purchasing the game that it may not see further development or release, and to only purchase it if you are happy with the game in its current state

Because the term "garbage" is subjective when it comes to entertainment media.. the kind of content you enjoy another hates, and visa versa

As you ever did with every game you bought ever. Software is always licensed, not sold. From your Steam games to your OS copy.

to which ppl usually like to claim that just because they had the game on a piece of plastic, it suddenly means they owned the game

which roughly translates to the time ppl could freely disregard Tos because devs couldnt enforce it

That's because users purchase them.

Preferences vary per individual.

Those "indie trash" titles that you may think of, are supposedly gold for some users.

if i license for example.. windows 10... i expect that ♥♥♥♥ to work and be updated.. not being abanded or unfinished..

TBH: Valve sells the games through their platform.. i expect them to do some serieus screening..

I am just annoyed by the fact that 50/60% of the products(games) on this platform are complete garbage unfinished games/products

its just how it is currently..

your expectation and reality dont match then

also good job throwing random numbers out and calling it as fact .

What screening do you want? they already ban and remove dubious games btw, they cant protect you from all bad decisions

all games eventually get abandoned as is there is no further development to be done so that doesnt mean a whole lot in itself.

If you mean EAG, reviews, youtube and google are your friends
