Dont accept random Friend request they will steal your account.
If you get a random Friend request from someone dont accept it!. They will steal your account from you and even if they dont get to keep the account they will trade all your stuff from that account. My friend trackt down the IP of this guy who hacked hes account and he knows who it is and where he did it from. Also if someone who is not on your friend list send links about something like money or skins dont klick on it. It will steal information and accounts from you. If i friend links you something and it dont sound like him or you are not sure DONT KLICK ON IT.

Um... you can't lose your account to a friend request. Only from clicking the wrong thing. And it should be common sense to never click shady links. So yeah, accounts are not stolen so easily.
So incorrect on so many levels.

If you have Steam guard you should be protected unless you get a keylogger or give out your information. Someone in your friend list just can't access your account.

The last sentence is only partially correct.

But; it should read:

If anyone sends you a link, don't click on it.

For your friend to get hijack, either he gave the information away, or has a keylogger on his device which he should be scanning his system. He will need to change his email/password, as well change password on Steam.

When someone try to login to the account you would get an email, which they need the code to enter in to access the account, meaning they need to have access to the email already. If you have mobile authenticator, it will be really unlikely they will get your code, since they physically need the device in person.

Now if your friend shutoff Steamguard for whatever reason, he shouldn't be shock that this could happen, and won't get notified about it because it disable needing verification, because he wanted to take the risk of someone trying to gain access to the account, if they knew his information.

With Steamguard off you can't trade, or sell items from account, and with Steam guard on, there's a hold time for trading, and selling items, only way to speed things up is by using mobile authenticator, which need to be active on the account for over a week, and Steamguard must remain on as well.

Not possible, just from a friends request. There would have to be a lot more to it then that.

Great lesson, thanks for teaching me how to become anti-social. Now I am starting to understand how the internet works, just because of this wonderful post.
