Steam says that I don't have enough free disk space, but I do. :(
So for some off reason Steam says that I only have 49000MB when I have 55GB, the game GTA V requires only 80000MB when I have 55GB, But when I go to download the game it says I only have a few MB. Please help since I found this question online as well but no answers where helpful... :(

Dude, if you have 55 GB, you can't install GTA V, Period. you need to have 2x the size of the game available on your HD so it can copy files over from the depotcache....

Can't let your HD get that low, bro. 80,000 MB is WAY more than 55 gb.

I just re-setted my computer, how come before I re-setted it, I was able to use GTA V?

Stop using MB and GB at the same time. One or the other.

GTA needs 80 GIGABYTES.
You have 55 GIGABYTES.
80 is MORE than 55.

You can't ask random people on the internet why your PC doesn't have enough space now.

We don't have access to it to be able to see what you actually have installed.

Use something like WinDirStat to figure out where your space has gone, or just get a larger hard drive.

81713 MB is way more than you have available. 'Nuff said. That's all there is to it.

You need a minimum of around 20GB of free space for windows just to run.
Not counting the system restore folder the windows updates folders and temp files.
To free up space run the disc cleanup. delete system restore folders

Can people please stop with this. The OS allocates the memory it needs. And 10 % of disc spage are allocated for disc operations.

There is no downside in a modern PC to filling your HDD/SSD to the brim.

Just a shot in the dark but GTAV got a bunch of new DLC since launch that would mean it got bigger over time. Maybe that's why you had GTAV installed in the past and you're now unable to install it?

Maybe its because you had space previously and now you dont? Hey, a year ago, i had 100 GB free on my SSD, now I have 20. I also know why i have less space now (Dishonored 2 & DOTO installed).

Did you reset your computer completly as in did you do a full restore and wiped all exisiting folders, because if you did, it goes right back to factory settings, and over time some patches on games take more space than you think, I had the same problem with Elder Scrolls online it said i didn't have memory needed, when i know i did, i finally got it to work, i deleted a bunch of old folders and files, mostly mods. You might want to see which folders are eating space, good Luck.

Well on mine it says
91179 mb for my space
And the game's space is 83727

Isn't my space bigger or not?
JINX8234 Dec 24, 2019 @ 4:19am
Then maybe after patching you might not have enough, go through and free up as much space, but keep in mind it also may mean you don't have enough virtual memory
