Does Valve plan to offer cashout functionality to PayPal in the near future?

If you mean being able to take steam funds and place them outside of steam, I highly doubt that.

Most likely not, it would open up far to many problems with steam wallet and Valve might just not feel like dealing with all those support tickets.

Seeing as how that would enable and incentivise people to try to game the marketplace for IRL profit, it's unlikely to say the least.

No. Money laundering comes to mind, among other banking/legal issues.

There is only one way to "cash out" of your Steam wallet that I would find acceptable.

Find a real life Steam friend who wants a game, buy it for them with your wallet funds, and have them return the price to you, in person, either in money, or by treating you to a beer or two.

Otherwise

Nope.

I started using a third party site to sell my items a few months ago and this site has been offering cashout for 3 years. Why would that pose a problem for Valve? What is the difference ?
And I do not see any reason to make a profit if it's not for the IRL. Making profit on the SCM currently can only be used to buy games and .... other items ... I do not see who it can interest!
I mean, we have to find ourselves in a situation where we are spending the money on the market for games or something else that we would never have bought otherwise? Besides how much game we have really pleased us ... In the end the only winner is Valve!

Those sites are not affiliated with Valve in any way. They do not report users for taxes.

And they are known to have users who actively use their services to launder money through them.

1. Selling in game items for real money like that violates most game rules.

2. It can be a real life tax issue to the very least and this opens up a big can of worms.

Ok thanks for your answers, I'll keep my items warm and wait for a new platform to offer a way to sell items and use earnings to IRL.

The way things are going, that may get shut down as well. If issues like OPSkins, legal and scams keep coming up, they may shut down user to user trading completely and only allow the Steam market.

I would suggest finding a more stable way to earn money as skins have never been, and will never be, it.

Hmm, this idea is so crazy, it just might work.

I am not sure but when I registered on the site in question I read in the general conditions and that yes, they inform the tax authorities from a certain amount earned. But I was not too interested in this because I am a casual trader and the amount far exceeded what I could have generated as earnings.

And I have no doubt that this site is not affiliated with Valve, I read the warnings! Thank you captain obvious.
By cons it is a fact this site third proposed the function of cashout and Valve is not able! I wonder why a company as strong as Valve can not find a way to offer this feature !!!
