I have 250h in so far, and tons of people on their reddit have far more. Addicting as hell.
For some reason, Stardew Valley got me hooked. I spent 80 hours before I knew it, and I'm not even done with half the game.

Warframe is f2p and can suck up a lot of hours
That said, WoW is still highly addictive and a new expansion is coming out in August. Mythic+ dungeons introduced in the current expansion offer a nice endgame alternative/addition to raiding. Path of Exile offers endless grinding also that I put 2k hours into until I burnt out on it. Borderlands 2 gave me nearly a thousand hours of coop fun, though that wasn't with random people.
But I really think it's better to pick up something like guitar playing, programming, etc and get addicted to that. Or, if it has to be video gaming, play a lot of different "finishable" games that don't consume all your time.
