Steam Music function is Useless?
I mean its not ENTIRELY useless, any music purchased through steam or that is available through a game/dlc is useable, however personal music tracks are not, the only exception I have is Winds of Hyrule, remix by Strike911 I downloaded from newgrounds ages ago.

I mean for an intigrated music player, the functionality falls extremely flat by only allowing specific tracks/music, even legitimate tracks burned from a CD's I've purchased are a no good. Thankfully I have a second screen and can run my player off that, however I was hoping since it was an integrated player, using out the media keys on my KB would be available, since most security software blocks their usage.

RIP a potentially great idea.

It's meant to be a basic player, not anything near fully functional. Just like most other things Steam adds.

Gets the job done, but if you want extras look elsewhere.

I however have no problem adding outside libraries to Steam and playing them.
I never used it, I prefer soundcloud, or winamp.

I've never been able to get it to work at all, so I just ignore it.
Weird all 5,000 of my mp3's work in it with no problems. Is your's copyrighted?

Can't you just add your music library to the music players path variable? Last time I used it I had to tell it where to find all my music.

MP3 being the keyword. The music player is very basic and was released DOA. One of the many complains was the extremely limited range of supported file formats. Anything fancy like OGG or AAC won't work. And FLAC is a whole different universe.

AAC and FLAC work fine in the Steam music player for me.

What music file formats do you support?
Currently we support MP3, FLAC, OGG Vorbis, and M4A (both AAC and Apple Lossless) files.

If it's not working for you then contact Steam support.

So I don´t have to alt+tab
How is shift-tab different from alt-tab? And steam overlay opens longer than alt-tabbing if you play in borderless window mode.

Not all games like alt-tabbing. Many older games will outright crash or not tab back in.

I see, its the file format, WMA and Midi... only MP3, FLAC, OGG Vorbis, and M4A are supported.

Well I can't blame steam for making a stand against Microsoft, I could convert them all, yet I was just exploring the use of functionality and it does not work with my media keys on my G810, as I stated before I have a second screen so its easy enough to select tracks and start/stop play.

I placed this in community on purpose, I wanted feedback from community members that potentially use the player function, not those who are trying to get help on why it isnt working period.
