Now i can't even receive a message without have the dreaded notification in the top right corner of Steam. It's super annoying.
Valve is really trying hard to push their user to quit using the chat and going to Discord.
Depending on the issue you're having, it could be due to one of the following issues.
- Cache issue, which you just clear the cache, and cookies from the Steam settings.
- Bad installs, which you reinstall the Steam client, or try switching into Steam beta, or if already in Beta, switch out of it instead.
- 3rd party apps interfering with Steam client, which yes there are some other softwares that interferes, and cause issues with Steam client, or service, so you need to look into that yourself.
- Overlay issue, some games cause problems due to how they were made, or some games having their own Overlay that interferes with the Steam Overlay, or 3rd party apps Overlay that interferes with the Steam Overlay. Something you can test, and see for yourself.
I might have miss few things, but I might edit this later and add those things I might have missed
You dont often have the overlay fail to display?
While it would be great to fix all these issues, or some of them, Im actually stoping to question "Why is it so buggy in the first place after all these years?" Some of these functions seem as complicated as making a can and string phone. I dont see how they could go unfixed for decades.
How?
Whats the real underlaying issue preventing bugs of the simplest functions from not being corrected, how do such simple functions fail in the first place?
As much as we want somethings to be fix, all we can do is let them know about the issues, and wait until they get around to fixing it, pray it be soon, or it be later down the road.
^nice.
Often freezes and makes even explorer crash.
