Help Windows XP user to get back access to their games
As you know, Valve stopped to support Windows XP and Vista. But also Valve has broken down a client. All right. On my PC was installed Steam client of 2013 year, I launched it and client worked well, but it started to load an update and after client was broken down with "steamui.dll" error.

Why Valve just didn't freeze a client version (about other features I will not write, Valve will not employe me anyway) to stay access for users to games we will not understand.

If you wish to help, sign this petition[www.gopetition.com].

P.S. Please, use an translator. I didn't translate while.

Thank you.

P.P.S. Please, read my messages carefully. I will not answer if you didn't follow by advice. English is not native for me, so I may be inaccurate

If used Windows XP never, please keep moving! Don't need to waste your time and tell about Windows XP to Windows XP users. Thanks.

Some people don't need Windows 10 or got 10 too. There are various reasons. Like various reasons to play on Windows XP. Let's ask Valve, can they buy up-to-date OS for users?

P.S. Yeah, you don't see Windows XP at stats, because is not possible launch the client. What clever move!

Why would a company give support for a 20 year old OS

Oh, really? I didn't know! Hurry to install Windows 10. Lol.

You make wrong question. Right question is "Why Valve broken down a workable client?"

I know and use. The knife at back to Windows XP users from Valve only consolidated my decision that I have done at 2016.

You should read the announcement they made on it for the answer.
"The newest features in Steam rely on an embedded version of Google Chrome, which no longer functions on older versions of Windows. In addition, future versions of Steam will require Windows feature and security updates only present in Windows 7 and above."

In the months leading up to XP support ending 0.46% of users were running XP. I know because I was checking out the stats https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Software-Survey-Welcome-to-Steam when the handful of XP users were trying to kick up a fuss before support ended.

It's a very old OS that enjoyed support for a very long time. And I have to imagine that the 0.46% of XP users weren't coming close to 0.46% of Steam revenue seeing as how XP systems are usually pretty old and unable to address sufficient amounts of RAM for modern games demands, not to mention not being able to execute games requiring 64bit suppot. And if you can't afford to upgrade you probably can't afford to buy games. And buying games ten years ago never guaranteed you perpetual support.

MS publishes one security patch for XP in years doesn't validate your argument. It's an extraordinary exception to their end of support for XP policy. Not evidence of XP relevance in gaming. Who are you trying to kid man?

You really only have a few options regarding XP and Vista.

1. Switch to GOG for their sipported games and keep XP

2. Get a more recent version of Windows, at least Windows 7 or newer, though 7 will likely only be supported by Steam for a few more years.

3. Switch to a current Linux distro, which is free, and use Steamplay Proton to play your library of games.

Thank you for actual info from stats.

You are not right fully about RAM. It's enough for many games. Also i.e. same browser works better and use less RAM. About money quote: It's incorrect opinion. I have a machine with Windows 7 also, but I really can not spend money at Steam but in other place.

Game developers spent time and money to support Windows XP, but players can't play if this game in Steam. The main problem is "I spent money, but can't play with pleasure (should make migration)."

\OP. Just upgrade to windows 10 or WIndows 7.
Your games will actually run better.
XP games will run just fine on Windows 7, in fact even better than they did on XP.

Sorry won't be signing. Ether upgrade to Win7, Win10 or live with not being able to use Steam. They mentioned they won't be supporting WinXP in 2019 for years before it happened.
