Oh, that must be why everytime a new Epic exclusive is announced people throw a tantrum and behave like the end is nigh for Steam.
Epic is trying to buy out every interesting looking title. Pretty much fact.
Again: Epic are the ones acquiring the exclusive rights. What's in it for them to lower the timeframe? Valve/Steam has absolutely no control over this.
Something like Kickstarter or backed up via patron also another issues to add, while Epic is to blame, Developer also a big problems including the publisher as they're the one who accept the $$$.
Another problem that may persist later is going to be a year of waiting and we got like a full priced games on steam, it's almost like double dipping under the same platform and a game cannot get more than 20% discount on Steam which means it'll be more waiting for some user who cannot afford it.
This issue will not happen if the game released and a year later 30-50% is almost guaranteed for all AAA games including some indies.
Well yea kinda true. But i dont think we are in the stage of calling it "starving". I mean dont get me wrong here steam get some intressting games like gears 5 or halo games so its not that they aquire ALL the games and even then just for the time being. They can only aquire so much. All i am saying is its nothing to get stressed out about.
nah, took a break from the thread, haven't read any other post since my last post prior to that one above I responded to. Took a peak at the thread and saw that post which made me chuckle so I responded to it.
And you still don't realize that you do not have any say in for how long Epic acquires the exclusive rights. Or what games. Nullifying your entire premise
And another think you fail to realize:
That'd be true even if Epic acquires timed exclusivity for every. single. game. If they release a one-year exclusive every day, you'd have a "new" game on Steam every day after a year.
And you would be wrong as usual. What do you guys do just make this stuff up? Metro on epic has had a good number of major patches as have all of their games. You guys sound desperate
