That is how is worked when it worked once I tried it, but it has stopped working since. It's literally what the thing says. Especially should for an idle clicker.
But, not anymore. Not even for TF2. No points have been accumulated. If all you had to do was play a game, and it doesn't even count it, this does not make sense per the description, and that is among many of the complaints thus far for points not counting, making it a useless event. Time has been wasted on it with nothing to show for it and I'm here on the record to share that experience.
The games that it counts in that section have been so because they were played at the time. When you play them, you're supposed to earn a certain amount of points over time everyday for more than 30 minutes, and those points are used from any one of the games that have a max available number of points. Doing quests adds more.
The first part of the problem is that other than the 100 daily points from Valve for participating, there are no more points being accumulated, which was what I was talking about. I have a capacity, which when you offset the free 100 points, that is not even close to being reached. This means that when playing the games don't actually count even though they're supposed to, you cannot even take the available points (earned from previously completed achievements) from it, so there is no cap to even speak of. It just doesn't exist.
I'm pretty sure I have enough such points to convert to tokens even for that $5 coupon without actually spending money (that is the p2w factor, every dollar you spend is contributing to the boost points and that converts to tokens when used), if only I was able to do so should the boost increase. There's nothing I can do when I'm pretty sure I've been following the simple rules.
I would think it would matter due to a certain amount of points generated over time. I can't claim anything that isn't generated in the first place. That's how it worked last time.
There are 0 points generated now other than what Valve gives. It's not claimed, there is nothing to do when it isn't generating. Nothing there, nothing to have claimed in the first place. It should keep going, but it does not.
You don't get the 100 from any quests, and I'm not even doing quests for that matter. There are thousands of potential points I could use up, but there is no capacity to do so that isn't generated to claim, therefore it is not doing what it is supposed to be doing, which is why I said that unless someone somehow managed to do quests or simply splurged money, there is nothing anyone can do from just playing. Not even idling on an idle game. That's what makes it a useless event.
((11439 points earned

YOU ALREADY REACHED YOUR MAX POINTS
Upgrade your maximum points or wait until tomorrow to claim your points ))
Its not letting me claim the points, its only letting me do 100 pts a day
Exactly and that 100 “bonus” should only be available if you participated in the race the day before. It doesn’t go up “just because”, you have to be active in the races.
Epic FAIL
"Increase your max points
All players will begin with at least 100 max points, and for each day that you participate, your maximum will increase by 100 points. Additionally, for every £1 you spend on Steam, you will increase your maximum points that you can earn by 127 points."
Note the "for each day that you participate, your maximum will increase by 100 points."
To me, this means 100 points on day 1, 200 points on day 2, 300 points on day 3, etc. It goes up by 100 for each day that you participate.
This is NOT happening. I believe I have played every day, and my max points has been 100 every day, except for on the very first day and for those days after I had completed a quest or bought something.
Whoever coded this made a mess of it and it was never tested properly.
People are talking about it, but not in a good way. Way to go Valve.
Thats not how it works, you're only supposed to get 100- everyday.
Valve just sucks at everything these days.
"for each day that you participate, your maximum will increase by 100 points."
that just means that your maximum will increase by 100 points each day, and not whatever you were thinking Genius.
The key fact you might missing is, that your points dont reset daily.
The scripters, cheaters, botters and hackers have taken over obviously. I dumped 100K points (at 1K boost each) into this race today and we pulled 8K ahead of everyone. I wake up and hare has a 10K lead with 5K attacks against it.
Obviously Steam did what they always do... They care at first and delete hackers and exploiters, but eventually they get tired and just give up like they did with the leveling system.
The race is now a sham.

The races last for a day and it resets. You can't conserve, you have to keep buying stuff to catch up.
Despite Valve never clearly explaining this ♥♥♥♥ event
