I have no idea how this game works and I don't have time to figure it out, but I clicked the boost thing a few times and got a lot of tokens, which I dumped into the badge and went up 5 levels.

Most people are buying games during the sale because they are on sale, not because they gain Steam levels. The ones that kept buying cards to gain Steam levels didn't gain the discounted games we gain now to level up.

There are tons of games that cost 0.39 euro (don't know dollar equivalent). For one euro you get 2.5 games. Each game will give you trading cards.

(If you don't have any of those cheap games you can get full bundles and the cost per game is WAY under 0.39 euro).

Now if those cards are worthless (3-4 cents each) (and the badges needs 5) then complete them to get cheap 100 exp.
If the cards are expensive (5< cents each) then sell them.

In other words, the usual process for getting cheap badges, except the 1 euro = 100< tokens = 1 badge level is a total cheat.

I actually like having games so now I just sell all the cards and keep going.

Ofc this is only worth doing if you have heavy equipment, like Idle Master and market trading macros.

They don't even mention about abusing steam level.
Badge can be redeemed as low as 100 tokens.
While useless profile background can be redeemed at 1k tokens.
It should be both emoticon/background 100 tokens each, badge should be higher.

Yup, this sale is a punch in the face with an iron fist for everyone who spent actual money on their level. I still remember valve saying theyres no additional ways considered to increase their level.

This wouldnt have been too big of an issue if Valve added this kind of leveling shortly after introducing steam levels. But now, its the dumbest thing they have done in the recent years. And they didnt even give any bonuses to people who leveled trough spending money on cards.

Im just glad i only paid for level 111.

Yeah, no one actually need sack of gems by now since most of us will lost interest in crafting card sets, gems price will just drop again n price of trading cards may also drop too cause of low demand. Market crash, rip steam market.

Honestly I liked the easy badges, my account is 10 years old and I have over 200 games. My account was level 13 before this.

The boosts were appreciated.
