There is a way to find out how much you have spent on your account, but the actual value of the account is nothing as it can not be sold, traded or transferred, as per the SSA.

OldSpend is before Spring 2015.

PWSpend is for Chinese users (Perfect World).

Because something only has "value" if it can be sold and most people asking such a question tend to be doing so with the intent to sell.

Nothing is obvious of why the OP wanted to know. You are making as many assumptions on the matter as we are.

Nope, still highly inaccurate as:
A) Prices can be from full retail to lowest sale price.
B) Site assumes lowest price was what was paid.
C) If any games were ever free, it assumes the games was free.
D) There is a huge gap between the two.
E) It assumes Steam Prices, so bundles and 3rd party resellers are still not included.

It gives a far more inaccurate range from prices in full to prices on sale. To say it is better then the one on Steam with actual purchase date... don't know what to say. One is an apple and one is an orange, but neither are a vegetable.

While I see the reasoning, I might take issue with this to some extent.

A lot of the people just like sharing this stuff for E-Peen contests, rather than people who are actually looking to sell their accounts.

From personal experience, most who ask what the OP said, tend to show up sometime latter trying to actually sell their account.

Again, not from my experience here. It also has to do with the way the OP worded it. If it was said as "How much have I spent?" then that would be one thing, but "value of the account" does have a different meaning.

Well, yes, guess you're right, it does matter what he was referring to. If it was "how much money I spent for my games", the only reliable way of checking is the "Limited User Account calculator".
If it was more within the lines "how much are my Steam games worth at this point in time", SteamDB is more useful, as it takes into account much more. C) makes a good point against this option though.

If u want to know how much u spent on Steam, u can install Steam Inventory Helper (SIH) extension, it has "show information about the funds spent on your account" option.

Store Purchases: $XX.XX
Market Transaction: $XX.XX
Gift Purchases: $XX.XX
In-Game Purchases: $XX.XX

Total Spent: $XX.XX
