help me choose a racing sim
i want to buy a racing sim which is not pc2 because i already own it and its multiplayer sucks (in 300h i haven't seen a race without ramming and distruction around t1). So i want you to help me with information about Asetto Corsa, Asetto Corsa Competizione, IRacing, Rfactor or whatever other sim (no raceroom plz, its garbage). Main 2 things i want to know are: list of cars (what groups are there in each game, how many cars per group), and is there a ranking system and ranked matchmaking, an d what kind of matchmaking is there. thanks

Edit

I really want to know about multiplayer experience, i can manageto find the car pool, so the only thing i want to know: is ther a ranking system and competitive matchmaking in any of those games

I just cannot comprehend why other people do what they do, are they 14 year old kids rahing when they loose a position and ram you off? It feels like its the case, but then come fast players who ram you off "im faster", or "im qulifying", like, im qulifying too mate, there is now exuse for ramming people off, if that was the case 31 people just have to stay in pits and allow the fastest guy to quali cuz he will ram you off, like dude, just overtake me on the strait, on in the middle of the corner and get on the inside and ram me wide into the wall. Plus the collision models dont help, you cannot lean on another car slightly as that happens sometimes irl, cuz the cars cannot have continus contact, they bounce off one another like basketballs. i mean dont the creator of this game look at competitors? it should be obvious that gt sport and acc (i went to see a cople of videos explaining ranking)have good ranking systems, why ust not use those? And rumors are they are already making pc3. All racing sims have something good about them, rfactor and iracing fysix (acc good gt3 fisix), pc good grafix, ect. i mean, they have good examples of every aspect of a racing game done well but in different games, why not use them, or is this some kind of conspiracy just to make us suffer and buy all of those games because they are secretly property of one conglomerate? im joking. But im really pissed. sorry for the rant i just had to offload it somehow
Yeah i know how mid filed goes :) I actually race a lot in public lobbies. Everybody thinks anyone else is a 14yo problem kid, but when you ask around/watch replay it's 20-30+yo dudes that often were surprised at what was happening. Well at least in AC, idk about PC2.

I've driven some very clean races from the back both in ACC and AC that were immidiately followed by few copleate pileups everywhere, with the same people. The line between clean and crash is very thin. And it can happen repetadely even when everybody wants to stay clean.
Ofc, when there is an actual problem kid on the grid, it all goes down the drain every time, but on higher safety ratings or in less popular timezones/cars these are pretty rare.

And even the matchmaking can't stop it fully, i've seen total wrecks in iRacing and in ACC, with people throwing all kind of tantrums around. Best way around it? Keep low profile, understand what is happening around you and don't take the occasional inevitable crash to heart. If you need to vent it's a sign that you aren't approching simracing with a right angle. Either get into league racing, or learn to deal with it.
I pretty much learned to drive in public AC and never had any real issues with crashing. It's a matter of approach.

Developing any kind of matchmakig system is hard. It's not about not knowing how but about actually doing it. It's not as easy as it looks, and even worse, when you do it people will still complain endlessly, like in the ACC case.
iRacing works thanks to good funding and big playerbase which cushions the rough cases. Smaller sims don't have that luxury.

Anyways, simracing is very fun hobby if you manage to get past the learning phase :) and there are quite a few people that love clean racing out there, it just takes a bit of time to find them, so good luck!

You should probably hire a research assistant if you want that kind of detailed information.

If you alreay know the games, why not do the research yourself?

That's sadly true for most popular games.

cinedine,im dyslexic, in the way that i cannot understand what i read if its not simple enough, i found some article explaining how acc rating works but couldnt understand any of it, like there are different types of criteria or something, like how you drive or how fast, i dont know. Many people say im just lazy, but i really am not, im just dumb, thats why i have a full time job in a kitchen, its simple long and hard so i wouldnt call my self lazy, but i digress. Anyway plz help, and if you don't have direct answer to the topic, dont write at all

Assetto Corsa is very good, however there are a lot of cars that are DLC. You can always wait until they're on sale or check Humble Bundle for deals. I couldn't bother too much with Assetto Corsa Compettizone. It's more like an add on. iRacing is good, however it's a subscription based game. I played rFactor for a long time, and it's exceptional. There's lots of mods for it. You might want to give Automobilista a look. Also look into things like GTR2, Race 07 (an older game but still very good), and GT Legends. All can be had relatively inexpensively.

For matchmaking iRacing is king, but it has it's disadvantages: price, ageing engine etc.

ACC has a bit simpler matchmaking and safety rating which does work to some extent. It only has GT3 class but it's done extreamly well. It still has some growing up pains so player numbers aren't big.

AC does not have matchmaking, but 3rd party apps like simracingsystem make it pretty easy to find coordinated racing without entering a league. AC with mods cover pretty much every car type, and have player numbers to support most popular series.

rFactor2 is the one I now the least about when it comes down to multiplayer, It should be pretty similar to AC but with like 4-5 times smaller playerbase. From what i've heard league racing is still decent but public/matchmaking is non existant.

Lastly, 300h in simracing is still pretty low, no matter what game, at that experience level people will crash just from the lack of skill. The faster you are the less crashing there will be around you.
Racing series influence the on track behavior too. GT3/F1 are crasher magnets. While i've seen some really clean racing throughout the filed on less popular cars (including street ones) in AC public lobbies for example.

Anyways, simracing is a nishe. You won't get good answers here. Best to ask on given game forums, or in other places on the internet.
