"I accidentally reported you" scam
So, you all know about the scam where someone tells you that they accidentally reported you and then you have to talk to a (fake) steam admin? Well that almost happened to me but i dodged a bullet at the last second. The thing i don't get is why isn't that person banned from steam? I reported all of the profiles involved in that but they are still there when i go to their profile ID.

They are most likely dealing with it.

You are actually demonstrating why the scam works: you are expecting your report to have an immediate effect. That's not how support should work; they need to look at things before taking action.

Also, keep in mind that those accounts are most likely hijacked. For that reason alone they won't be removed.

My suggestion to Valve is this. Being that things like this are happening more and I, like many others, browse steam everyday. Why not put a small news section on the store page I can click so I can become aware of issues like this?

So you want stolen accounts to be banned? I bet the owners would like to recover them. Also if you stop using fake trading sites you will see less scammers.

I reread what everyone has said, and I don't read it as anyone advocating that. I just want a news article saying, beware of that scam and nothing else. I had to come here to find out after browsing this section for an hour. I only browse this section once a month. So a simple 2 or 3 page news article telling me what's going on is all that I want. I agree with the notion that Valve has to be careful actually. That they should NOT be banning people without extensive investigation because these accounts are often highjacked by the sound of things. So either you misread what I saying or I didn't communicate what I meant well enough. I am definitely NOT saying they should be banned.

There is still no achievement in steam for spamming the forum. Try READING that achievement's requirements please.

I have a bunch of screenshots of convos and downloaded the videos they sent me lol

Another words, why they are still around doing as they please. It's against the law,
but unless you actually know how to Track Internet Hackers & thief's, not much you
can do right now.

Some people aren't well informed of how scam work in internet.

It's the similar people who probably got scammed game as well because they don't ask any other player about suspicious site, or deals to good to be true.

You won't hear anything other than "a profile you reported" thanks, if they do something and you're among the first to report that profile.

You did the right things at least after you bothered to try talking to them lol.
