GeForce experience & free games from Nvidia.
With the purchase of a new nvidia graphics card, I qualify for two free games, but in order to claim them I have to install the GeForce experience app on my computer to get the game keys. Is this worth doing? Anyone have any problems with this app on their computers?

The two games are Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which I know is crap, but hey, for free it might be fun for a couple of hours, and the other game looks like it might be very good, the new game called Control from 505 Games. I just don't know if I want to install the nvidia app to get the free game keys.

N ever had an issue with it, though I really don't use it.

You can uninstall it after claiming the games, I think.

Indeed you can, but it’s harmless really and I’ve wound up leaving it on just to prompt me when new drivers become available.

The software is fine, use it for driver updating. If you like to stream you could use it for that too.

As a side note Control is from Remedy, the makers of Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break. 505 Games is just the publisher.

GeForce Experience is more than just a fancy NVIDIA program, it also helps keep your graphics hardware up to date.

So yes, get it!

You...kind of want the driver to manage updates for your card. Besides, that's $100 worth of games, definitely go for it.

Even if you dont want the games, you can sell, trade or gift the games to a friend. That being said, i recommend using geforce experience anyway, to keep your graphics drivers up2date.

Not any more. GFE checks that you’re actually using the type of graphics card that came with the free codes - if it doesn’t match then you can’t redeem them.

The whole point of making you redeem them through GFE was to prevent reselling.

You can't sell them! The games are "stucked" to the email and user provided in GeForce experience!

just install it, it runs fine with no issues for me.

disable all the stuff you dont use and install the driver updates when it says one is available.

You have a Nvidia card it's a Nvidia app, so you'll put their hardware in your computer but not download their app? You trust one but not the other?

From what I can see GeForce Expereience is little more than an information gathering app from NVIDIA. Course they want your name and details so the information they collect is useful, so creating an account will associate your real name with the data they collect. You not only need to do that but you need to open a Bethesda account too. Whether you want that is up to you but personally I don't think it's worth a game unless you really really want the game.
