Steam chat is marking MediaFire links as "suspicious"
So, I am chatting with a friend. He had come over to mine yesterday and had played a game of mine (paid) that he liked, and made a world on it. Today, I was going to send him his world file like I promised. I made and sent a MediaFire link, through the Steam chat. When I sent it however, it popped up in the chat as: "Warning: Suspicious URL: http://www.mediafire/com/file/---------------/------------/file" why is this? is it because of the URL being insecure? (HTTP not HTTPS)

It's because those links could contain anything and even if yours was just that innocent save file there is no way for the system to check that.

Mediafire and many other free sites are blocked due to scammers, phisher and hijackers using them for malicious/illegal activities.

At least that is my understanding of it.

Why not Dropbox, or Google drive, or other better services?
