anyone using the Dualshock 4 wireless USB adapter?
I've always used the ps4 controller (I simply can't get used to the tracking pad of the steam controller) but for some reasons I never could get it working wirelessly and I also hate the fact that for many games I need 3rd party apps which sometimes stop working mid-game.

So I want to know if this usb adapter for PC recently released by Sony would solve my problem. Does it offer native PS4 controller support for all PC games now? Without the need of any 3rd party to make the pc recognize it? What are your opinions on it?

Thanks!

Nope. It will only work on the same game it would have worked with before. It still does not support X-input, so games have to be specificaly programed to be used with the DS4 controller.

Valve recently added DS4 (Dual Shock 4) support into the client, just as they have for the Steam controller, so a program like DS4W shouldn't be needed. It will allow you to use the PS4 controller in games ran through the Steam Client. Doesn't matter if it is a standard Bluetooth, wired (for the new DS4) or the official Playstation adapter.

Run Steam in Big Picture. There are four icons in the upper right corner, you want options. It is the third one from the right.

On the left is a section for Controller. Click on controller settings. There are three options, the last one is for PS4 controller support.

So, is there any ways to let a generic wireless controller (looks like an Xbox) to work? (I tried playing L4D2, and for some reason the right stick won't work properly, along with the bumpers.

Only if it support x-input. If it doesn't then the game has to support direct-input.

I think the plan is to look into support for more controllers then the the Steam and DS4, but the DS4 was already partly working since it used similar input to the Steam Controller, so they just added full support.
