To those with large game libraries, all/most games installed?
My steam library is getting quite big even so big that I bought a 4tb fast external hardrive to game off of so I could have all my library installed. Now that I see there are people with way bigger libraries than mine and I wanted to know what you guys prefer to do. Do you beat a game then uninstall? Do you like to keep it installed incase you want to go back in? Do you like them all installed for ease of use and how its just like a giant disc library right at the click of a mouse? Whatever it is please let me know. currently I keep about 200 installed but in the future that might have to change.

I just download and install a game when I want to play it.

Right now I have 3 games installed out of 814.

I like to keep my stuff tidy … Got 31 of 726 (~4.3%) installed.

If I've not thought about the game in a year, why waste the space for it? Re-downloading isn't that much of a bother.

-----
UPDATE: currently only 9/918 (~1%) installed on laptop

very true redownloading is not a bother and I do have fast internet 150mbs donwload speed. hmm. I just felt like since i had the room why not install them all. Not only that thoughI almost felt like If i didnt have them installed it was like i didnt have them at all I know it is very stupid. Im actually trying to beat more games in general and part of me is realising having them all installed probably doesnt help. Also I am getting to the point where installing them all is a little ridiculous. Idk a little stuck in between. especially becasuse i am refurbishing my current pc 173770k msi gtx1060 6gb. Its a pc from like 2012 and it needs a now power supply closed loop and such but still kicks ass. about to get a new pc and i plan on having a SSD drive so I think I am just gonna have to get used to not installing everything I have.

I have around 300 games installed from my 2000 games library. Mostly stuff i like to replay regulary and really big games if i want to play them spontaneous.
My internet connection is not bad (50mbit) but it can still take some time to download some of the bigger game titles with 50-60 GB+.

maybe ill start doing that install a little after I feel like i finish them. once I start beating my single player games.

Like most I have only a fraction of games installed. Usually around 100. A mix of games I am currently playing to completion, some shorter games for if I don't have time for a full session, and a few favourite games that I go back to regularly.

I used to have more installed then worked out it made it even less likely I would finish a game since there were so many other options available.

I install a game that I want to play, but I generally don't deinstall them afterwards... until I run out of diskspace and need to clean up.

Around 50 games installed of 589....(on this account)

I install when i want to play one... not that i have to worry about space, my main rig has 1TB ssd and 2 6TB storage drives. I just like keeping things clean.

17 out of 178 installed. Some I just re-downloaded just to snag the soundtracks again. There's basically 3 main ones I hop around to and others if certain friends happen to be online. Some games seem to be completely reset when I uninstall them (no steam cloud except the achievements. For those few I still have to fight through them all to get back to where I was...)

Holy crap you guys have massive libraries lol. I have maybe 40 games...only 2 installed. I keep the games I'm actively playing on SSD...not a big deal to download and install.

I acquire games very slowly. Even when I try very hard my library has grown so much...
This is what 13 years of steam sales does to a person. Control your spending before it controls you. Wishlist everything, wait for sales. I'm really trying hard to get through all my current games before I even buy another though. But I seem to have failed at that too.

~70 installed out of my 1950+ games.
Used to have everything installed, after I got my new rig, I've keept it at a minimum.
