Those Japanese hentai game market at least restrict underage from playing them, but steam is world wide and everybody from all over the world uses it.
All I hope is that Steam won't turn to easy access spot for porn game.
Wait, even when they did that green light thingy? allowing steam users to vote for next game?
I wrote alot and my points are flying everywhere so here's what I don't understand about Steam displaying those porn games.
Uncensored patch is easily approachable meaning kids can get to them easily.
Steam is used world wide so that could be a problem.
is the two sub-part to my point.
My main point is
Why on earth would you display a PORN game with NO PORN?
Mods aren't under the jurisdiction of Steam.
Kids need to create a Steam account, bypass an age gate, get Steam Credit and purchase the game, install it and actually go and download an external mod to access the adult scenes, whilst still needing to play said games to see the scenes.
Compate that to Googling for pornography and tell me which is the more viable option?
Totoro did answer you. Some people enjoy the games as they are, even if you don't. So why not have them on Steam?
Really? Are you really comparing PORN game to Porn mod of the game? Mods are sub stuff that are created BY the players not the developers. They have no control of what thier players do. PORN games are purely created for porn purpose and it's purpose is to sell the game as much as it can to the audience that are looking for porns.
Do you think if you give kids Skyrim they will directly look for porn mod? I mean sure there would be some kids that are like that. but porn games on steam with devs of those games giving off uncensored patch off to buyers are different story.
This is literally exposing porn to kids.
When kids play skyrim, they are busy chopping off bandit's head or kill dragons. some kids don't even bother modding the game either. This porn game is to be PORN. Skyrim is not ment to be PORN.
No its not since the games do not contain any porn in the form sold on Steam.
That IS ALL that matters before the law. Its not Steams responsibilty what users do with a game after they bought it, installing porn mods or uncensor patches.
Also, in todays world a child literally just needs to type in "porn" in Google and turn the safe search off ( 1 click) to get hundreds of thousands of hardcore porn pictures.
Like everything of this kind of content its the PARENTS responsibilty to monitor what their kids watch and play on the net, not Steams nor anyone elses.
and so what?
Actually Valve recently banned ways to give people easy guides to uncensor censored games so yeah
other than that its not their job to do the parenting
Have you not seen those games? I heard game devs of those games are giving the buyers uncensored, actual porn game patch to the buyers.
But you have a point. but do you really think it's ok?
They've accepted two porn games that are "cencored".
My only concern is that Steam won't be one of those easy access spot for porn games.
I might be over worried about it, but I'm just saying.
but back to my point, Why would they display porn game with no porn on them?
I guess you guys would answer simply just saying they want to expand their market.
"My only concern is that Steam won't be one of those easy access spot for porn games."
i dont think it will, especially since major payment companies such as Paypal dont do business with adult/x rated services at first place, that being said scanty clothed women featured in VN games and alikes do not count for porn
Honestly? yes it is
Once again: its not valves job to monitor what happens outside of their platform
I'm just concerned that some parent ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ may interfere with steam. you know how they know way to throw ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the game to make their kids not play games. That's all about that point.
When it comes to violence or sexual content, Steam has a set policy that doesn't allow porn. While it's true that mods and/or patches do exist for some games that get around this, Steam has a feature called family view. This can be set up to restrict what your child can or can't access as well as what games in the library they can play or view. While this feature could always be expanded upon further, it's not Steam's job to fulfill the role of guardian.
First off one needs to be already over 13 to register a steam account, no matter how much some soccer mum would throw a hissy fit because Valve could rightfully point out that they dont host or endorse nude patches or anything
And that is on that user and the game's developer Valve was removed as a middle man in that transaction.
Valve already banned such instructions and links from the developer in the Steam forums. Not much else they can do.
