So many awful games.
Took a look through the Steam store. Wow. That was terrible.

It would appear that recently we've struck quite a bump, a bump in gaming quality versus quantity. Hentai, Early Access, and the awful Indie Game Market manifesting nothing but broken, below par, and pricy games with little content. For a while it's been clear that Valve doesn't want top of the line quality ganes filling their stores, but is instead focusing more towards quantity over quality.

I, for one, would happily remove hundreds of games from the Steam market if I had even the slightest chance. Staring with the hundreds of Hentai/Anime games that completely plauge the market. Afterwards, I'd completely remove Early Access entirely; Early Access developers have no reason to finish a game if it's already sold thousands of copies. In short, Early Access just doesn't work. It's like pizza: The devs make the pizza half baked and 'promise' to bake the other half, but never do. They just give you a half finished pizza for the full price.

It's so revolting to see promises broke right before your eyes and that game you were promised turn into something so disgusting you can't even stomach it. Make it so you can refund an EA game ANYTIME, that'd fix it quick and make this greedy devs work. I'd also make sure those Indie game creators are placed under a heavy thumb so they can't release their foul 'games' anymore.

What are your thoughts? Tell me!

, sites like gamespot or pc gamer do not bother with projects from miniclips.com or newgrounds.com.

I'm not sure about their website, but their magazine does - "10 free downloads" is a regular feature. Some of the DL's featured are just mods to mainstream games, but mostly its freeware & flash/browser stuff - games and projects that I suspect would struggle to get through Greenlight.

They also cover gamejams and other aspects of indie gaming and grass roots development.

it's bit too late to say "what is the point of a filter like that" after ~200 posts of discussing poor quality control, don't you think so? people been complaining about poor quality games for a year or so...

it's easy to say "don't play them". it takes time to identify these "awful" games, too.

if workshops has "most subscribed" category to help identify impulsive rate ups, games in the store should also have something similar.
But i do not agree that what you may call "Browser game" = Low Qruitly, some of the games on the browser are really good qruilty
There for what is the point of a filter, that filters on something that is much random then anything else
A game been a browser game dose not mean its an FPS, an RPG, an Image game, it just mean it was made for a browser, that tells you very very little abut the game
A game made for Mobile can be also anything
Your filters say very little abut the game if at all, that i just do not think they have a point no real one any how
And if they do have to what i think you are aiming to, you are abut taste, that is not really relvent for a filter that is for every one

flood of school project-like games withdraws the purpose of reviews.

like i said previously, sites like gamespot or pc gamer do not bother with projects from miniclips.com or newgrounds.com.
Was wondering abut that
So here is a PC Gamer, abut at least one game called "Kingdom" that is linked to newgrounds.com , so guess that example is not that good?

Enjoy
I play insurgency but tehy keep messing that up. So a good game turns into an aweful game. Latest update crashes teh game most of teh time. The rotation of teh charachter doesn't work and the video settings which seem to effect loading gets rest leaving you searching through options in a crasghing game for no reason. Worked last week now it doesn't.

That's teh industry these days. And if tyou say anythingh about it. Ados mate. you are gone. removed from teh discussion. So be real; careful on steam games.

My thoughts are that this is bad idea for indie studios that create quality games but can't afford to finance releases.

All simply because you don't like certain games.

My view is that if I don't think I'd like it, I don't click on it.

Choice > no choice.

The more games, the better. For every game there is at least one person who genuinely enjoys it, so why not? I wouldn't care if all the hentai games would be banned for good, but there are tons of people who are into this kind of stuff. You can filter you store.

As for early access, I invested in two games so far. One was pretty disappointing while the other blew my mind for almost 700h. Removing and banning are the worst possible solutions. There are people who would like to see every shooting game removed, who would decide what game is 'good enough'?

You played 27 hours Sakura Clickers and complain about Hentai. You are supporting those games for playing it, you know that, right? So more will come, when people playing it.

My thoughts: You don't know what you want! Find yourself, find your genre, find your games you are into. Ignore the rest.

Valve honestly needs to stop being lazy and make their own games truth be told. They've been getting handouts of the games they allow in and now they are getting greedy towards the mods now.

Make it stop.

Awesome ... 0.23 % of the user base may take it up ...... I guess they got some cash from the makers to try to save this experiment .
