The Trophy collection in PP is largely cosmetic. You do the criteria and you get the trophy which can be organized and displayed in your pirate page when people look up your information.
Because some of the criteria are useful measures, like having a Frenetic in a puzzle used in niche game content like the Vampire Lairs, some captains will look at trophies to approve or reject jobbers. But you can more easily see skill level in the general information so this is rare.
Having a trophy doesn't give any in game boosts. Having a trophy does not unlock any content.
You will have the same chance as anyone else.
You can double check my understanding by asking in the Discord server. https://discord.gg/Sgr5XRA5Pt
But after contacting the support and waiting (for a good while), they fixed the issue. So overall, all achievements should work.
That said, the game is absolutely grind intensive and it is very very unlikely that you will ever get all achievements even if you are tremendously skilled in the puzzles.
Right! It is impossible to get 100% achievements. For example, the holiday team competitions have 3-4 teams. Each team earns the equivalent of a Gold, Silver, or Bronze etc. trophy at the end of the team competition. Because you are on one team, you can never earn the other teams' trophies.
This doesn't make sense to me. The achievements are just something nice. Except where another player decides to use them despite the existence of the skill tree display (able, master, etc.) the trophies are cosmetic. You can play the whole game without a single trophy.
When you ask if 'achievements work', what? What do you mean? What function are you expecting?
