Is this game pay-to-win?
O.k. so once apon awhile I started to play this game to accomplish tasks and earn loot in TF2
and by then I realized It got something really nostalgic to it. So here I am thinking about reinstalling SN again. My question: How broad is the advantage-disadvantage span between payers and F2Ps?

So far from what I've found, paying only means you get to better gear faster. You will still need to find the more powerful recipes from Basil at times but you can still get the energy technically by using the in-game market.

It is NOT a pay to win game. Paying only lets you win faster :)
You can get allmost everything without paying.

Unless you are talking about LD, no.

yes, very pay to win, assuming u have infinite money resoures. You technically can get triple maxes on all ur gear/weapons making u extremely hard to kill in LD and basically giving you a great dmg boost since u attack faster, charge faster and live longer. Additionally your triple max gear/weapons would greatly boost ur survival in PvE. And since u need energy to rev, as long u can pay money, u can rev infinitely many times.

Spiral Knights is truly Free to Play, unline other "Free" games.
Don't let the energy system fool you; once you advance to the higher Tiers, you'll be making enough crowns to buy in-game energy and extending your play time as much as you want.

You as a non-casher can have everything a paying player has, you just need to be more patient :)

On an additional note--paying for gear and stuff doesn't necessarily mean that you'll always win......you can have the best gear in the game--and still lose because you have no idea how to use it properly/ don't have the skill that other people build up over time xD
Also--paying for everything kinda makes the game less enjoyable
This is my personal opinion of course--you may see otherwise :P

No, you don't need to pay to win.

Well, that's good. I started playing with my friend and was worried I would end up having to spend money on energy.

you can pay.... there's no reason to though. you can even get energy without paying real money.... it takes a LONG time though. :\

if you don't pay it takes Weeks if not months to beat if you don't have friends that can help you out by bringing you on later game missions.

So this game ACTUALLY has like an END to it? SICK!!!
no srsly I was hoping it wouldn't be one of those "level for the rest of your life" ones.
