Players do not need to use "Crystal Energy" for upgrading unless you wish to buy certain rarities such as "Alchemy Orbs" from the "Supply Depot". Players are also able to buy rarities with "Crowns" from the "Auction House". Other than that, when you upgrade you'll only be able to use "Crowns" to upgrade your item.
They are still called CE by most people... Even if you nitpick on JK, CE and whatever you want to whine about
Back on topic: The rate of orbs to craft stuff is the same as before (800 ce 5*, 400 ce 4*, 200 3*, etc.) but can be found within treasure box in dungeons (need 3 orb per craft). Also now to heat gear you need fire crystal of the same * (radiant 5*, shinning 4*, glowing 3*), Radiant are now the bane of most players because you need roughly 500 radiants to up one items and you get an avrg of 15-20 per vana run.
That's the bottleneck now. They sell radiant at 50 per 750 ce I think, or something like that
Edit:
I totally agree with you. This way is better IMO
and yes, you are one of these people.
You mean dumb like calling energy CE? Just because people do something doesn't mean it's not dumb. There's still people that call native Americans "Indians" when they literally never had any connection to India whatsoever...
