Linux - Steam can add the Linux Native ?

Hi there .

SpiralKnights : Under Linux , for manually install you can make the follow Process

Spiral Knights ( http://www.spiralknights.com ) -> Reqs

Java : 1.5.0 or > (the client search in /opt/java for default path)
Process : 1.3 Ghz
Free Space : 650 MB Hard Disk
Video : 128 MB (3D Must be Supported for Good Gameplay)
Memory :
Linux or Windows XP : 512 MB RAM
Windows 7 : 1 GB RAM

Download From CLI :

$ wget http://gamemedia.spiralknights.com/spiral/client/spiral-install.bin
$ chmod a+x ./spiral-install.bin

WebBrowser :

If you wanna use the game from web browser and you have the linux native client installed , you can open a terminal and use the follows commands :

first , must be created the folder called ".getdown" inside $HOME
$ mkdir -p $HOME/.getdown

Second if for example , i have the game installed in another path like
"/media/another_hd/Games/MmoRpg/SpiralKnights

I can make a symbolic Link , ln -s origin destiny ,for example :
$ ln -s "/media/another_hd/Games/MmoRpg/SpiralKnights" $HOME/.getdown/spiral

Ready , now you can use the version for webbroser without occupy more harddisk free space , and updated :D .


If you use another Operating System the webbrowser client data must be in :

Windows :
Windows 7 -> C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow
Windows Vista -> C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Three Rings Design\Spiral Knights
Windows XP -> C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\spiral

Mac OS:
~/Library/Application Support/spiral

After you can make a "Shorcut" for the SpiralKnights , and add with "Add a Game -> No Steam Game" and put in your steam :D XD
