auction house concerns
i may be the minority here. idk,

But i definitely feel like the prices in the auction house are over inflated.

it's near impossible for the average player to purchase anything worth having when cosmetics/weapons cost 200kcr+

AH prices are set by players.

weapons (and equipment in general) are meant to be crafted, buying is far more expensive for 4* and 5* due to unbind.
you can get cosmetic items for a few kcr a piece, like party items, hallow and frosty, along with some base theme accessories. of cours that glowy aura that also leaves fancy footprints and is wanted by everyone is going to sell for far more.

yeah, the only problem with this is that people exploit the fact that they can put whatever price they want on an item without concerning themselves with what the market place says the average cost is.

crafted weapons should have a set price specified by the game itself. and from there, base the auction price accordingly.

edit: this should also include the rarity, If it's a common accessory item it should not cost anywhere near 100kcr.

then dont buy it?
if the item isnt sold, the auction ends and the one who put up the item has to eat the listing fees. you can also put up the same item for cheaper yourself.

why SHOULD there be a set price?
I mean, there kinda is because it costs a certain amount to make stuff and sellers want to get more than that, but why force some sort of artifical limit on players?

I agree with where you're coming from here,

I'm suggesting something like this because the auction house should be the place where actually rare items/materials get sold at a price thats understandable. I shouldn't see common accessories like vents, different variants of default armors go for 200kcr+. High prices are understandable for items that look expensive/have flashy bits to them. you pay for that cosmetic flare that comes with said costume piece.

customizing your character in this game alone is extremely difficult because of the high prices on some common accessory items. the average player wont ever be able to use any of the cosmetic items unless they pay a decent amount of real world money.

not sure what default armors you are talking about, but vents are not common. loads of people want them, so that drives the price up.
they may not have any particle effects attached to them, but that doesnt make them the same as for example bolted vees. you pay for the catperson aesthetic which is popular for who knows why. same with cardboard wings, they are also just a basic thing, but demand is high because people want wings of any kind.

you can look good without paying. for example, my old costume used to be a cobalt helmet (a few kcr) with a cool com unit (another few kcr) and cool (though most will do) glasses (a few dozen kcr), along with an ash tail coat (another few dozen kcr if you craft it instead of wasting your money buying it) which has one of the cobalt crests (free) and a heavy vitakit (maybe 30kcr at most).
all affordable with a bit of grinding. it would cost more to make just two 5* items, not to mention heating.

Well, right now there are a few instances. Most ( for obvious reasons ) have disappeared form the listing, but; there's a wicked fur cap going for 100kcr right now. Along with a wicked hood.

I've seen wicked costume apparel commonly throughout the auction house, There's no need for the high pricetag.

costume armor is even worse, most are averaging 100kcr+ right now.

wicked is part of a promo which, as far as I am aware, happened a while ago. combine the current inaccessibility of more with the price of opening a promo box and there you go, not an unreasonable amount.
if you want it cheaper, increase the supply instead of somehow regulating the price itself.

or, and this might be a novel idea, use cheaper stuff. 0-2* armor sets are dirt cheap and you can mix and match any way you want.
This is precisely why I don't bother with cosmetics

Or the auction house if I can help it

you can buy to merchants in haven and get better prices than ah, normally the people put high prices on ah cause they will have to pay a 10% of the sale.

The reason is due to SK being flooded by costumes and accessories which sky rockets specific stuff and makes the rest fall off. Stormy prize box related item are sold for an absurd amount of money because it's a 2013 promo that never reappeared and can only drop in the Surprise Box (which was once a year promo since 2014 up to 2019)

Right now (I'm assuming you just started) the market has "stabilized" itself after Energy became non tradable steam item. Before that there was a dedicated group of people (myself included) that were trading solely to get money and buy games. After that, I (along with most Energy trader) were left with tons of money with no idea what to do with it. So it inflated the market for cosmetics.

200k cr is somewhat "cheap" nowaday for a single item. 1m cr is where you get into the "middle" pack and 10m+ is high end. Sold a cosmetic from Stormy Prize Box for 5m cr and 100k E. Been on a "retirement" ever since and I give lots to newcomer.

Hope this helps understand. It's more that people have ♥♥♥♥ you ton of money now and it's not just 1 or 2.

Little late to this thread. I personally did not trade my crowns for games as I had money irl to buy games. I just enjoyed working the AH it's fun for me. I was a huge cosmetic reseller, I can tell you now yes some stuff is wanted more and prices are higher. Rare stuff all that jazz as the guy said above me. But there is one huge factor here that isn't talked about the supply. The playerbase is tiny now scary tiny, normally there is only 1 session of Haven not even filled at a time even on weekend peeks. Yesterday mid sunday only 1 Haven worth of people. Before you would see it go past 5 fully populated havens or more any day of the week. Literally there was over 10 times the market post there is now.

In simple answer the game is dying so the supply isn't there to regulate the supply and demand factor. It's no longer a healthy market it's very much broken at this point just for the simple fact nobody plays. Also as much as I hate to say it unless some big ass youtuber or youtubers twitch streamers something bring attention to this game it's gonna keep dying till we see a server shutdown due to lack of revenue. This game is 10 years old now this month. It's old, the devs don't have the passion to create for this game really anymore which after 10 years is understandable. So all we will get is recycled events and items like we have been till it's over.
