AH orbs always cost more than supply depot orbs. that is because almost all the orbs on AH came from the supply depot and people are reselling for a profit.
if you are talking about the cobalt set, please dont. cobalt is one of the worst armor sets and defender is one of the worst shields. they lack both status resists and offensive bonuses, both of which are very important. the weapons are bland, but functional, so keep those if you must.
yes and no. missions have two big advantages, which is that they can start you a stratum later (the first stratum of a tier pays pretty bad compared to the second) and that you can get very specific levelsets, such as bosses, which pay very well.
but arcade isnt useless. first of all, doing arcade is less boring than grinding the same mission over and over and over. secondly, recipe reselling can net you a lot of money. most 3* non-HoH recipes can be resold for a couple kcr more than they cost, some even netting you up to 10kcr profit each. 4* ones can be resold the same way, but you might not sell your recipe and your profit margin is lower.
AH isnt that complicated either. to explain how it works and how you should use it, lets give an example.
so lets say you just bought a kilowatt pulsar recipe from basil. now you want to resell it on the auction house for profit.
the first thing you do is look for how much other people are selling theirs. open the auction house. what comes up first is the "featured" tab. you dont want that, so select the one right below it, "by category". now type whatever you are looking for in the search field, in this case typing "kilo" should be enough.
now you are seeing a bunch of kilowatt pulsar recipes. but you want to know which ones are the cheapest, so you can sell yours even cheaper. look in the top right corner, it says "sort by". select "buy price", because this is pretty much the only thing you care about with recipe reselling. this will either sort them in ascending or descending order. if you did it right, you should see the cheapest recipe right on top.
what you should see is the item leftish, with bid/buy prices right. bid is the lower number and buy is the number in the box. take the "buy now" price and remember it.
to explain how AH works, lets also say you might want to buy that recipe and resell it, because some idiot is selling it for way too little. so you click on it and look at the bottom of the window. here you can either type in a number and bid, or buy the item directly for the buy now price. you dont like the buy price, so you just place a bid. to check on that bid, look at the top and select "my bids", where it will be listed. if you are outbid, you will get your money back, either directly (which will be announced in chat to you) or by mail if you are offline.
but now you want to sell your own recipe. go to the "my auctions" tab. here you can make your own auctions and see how the ones you already made are going.
to make an auction, select an item in your inventory that isnt bound. this will pop it into the slot on the right. now you can put in a bid price, a buy price and an auction time. for the recipe, you dont want to make a loss, so take how much the recipe cost and add 10% of that (this is 4400cr total in this case). this is your bid price, as long as at least one person bids, you wont lose any money. for the buy price, remember how much the cheapest recipe from before cost. set your own price a little below that, anywhere from 100cr to 1kcr less should do the trick. then select the time. your recipe is very likely to be sold, so the extra cost of creating the auction will be refunded, which means selecting two days should have no detrimental effect. you can also leave the buy price out, which will mean the auction will always run for the whole duration, but making a buy price means impatient people will just buy it.
that should cover most of it, any further questions?
I gave more information. every vanguard knows AH orbs are more expensive, every vanguard knows cobalt sucks, most vanguards know about recipe reselling.
so I thought I would share that knowledge. you arent the arbiter of knowledge, you dont own the right to share information.
because you cant handle me talking to you, I will stop responding to any of your comments not directly related to SK.
have fun.
I pretty much used the thread to dump as much knowledge as possible, so there is a lot to go through, but it might still help.
He's right though
Cobalt is one of the worst set to have and defender is really subpar
You should look for upgrading brandish into Glacius/Combuster/Acheron and getting a Barbarous Thorn Shield/Grey Owlite Shield/Dragon Scale Shield. An autogun upgraded into a Blitz Needle is the primary weapon for the last boss of the game (Vanaduke) and a lot of people (including me) enjoy the pulsar line as a gun. Most used armor are Vog Cub, Skolver, Chaos, Valkyrie (has a sweet lady look).
Feel free to ask about arsenal equipment, most of the veteran (like Sebastian, Hennils and me) benefited from old heating system and got plenty of items so we know how good/bad some of them are. I have 18 swords, 20 guns, 12 bombs, 20 helms, 13 armors and 18 shields. About 90-95% of them are 5*
so it was agood idea to buy the Dragon Scale Shield. XD
personally, I think it is meh because poison isnt that dangerous, compared to for example shock on owlite, but it is still lengths better than jelly shield, defender or similar. also, it works really well in C42 when you get to the point where danger missions are doable for you.
and as stated in the link I gave you, shield status resists are more important than defense, so you picked a decent shield.
on the topic of shields, you might also want to try a swiftstrike buckler. defense is awful, especially in T3, but it is one of the most offensive shields out there. most vanguards own one for that very reason and even if you cant handle it yet, you will probably get used to it if you improve your dodging skills.
