Is spiral knights conciderd (PTW) Pay To Win?

I need some advice. is it pay to win? im stuck on rank 6-2 because im on knight elite and it is IMPOSIBLE to pass. if you want to pass knight elite it takes me FOREVER. Please help me!

no, SK is not P2W. you can get almost everything without spending a single penny.
you are just at a point where you need to grind.

If you search crowns to buy orb, you can easily find orb playing Elite mode with someone. You need very cheap money to rank up if you play elite. If you search elite orb, you play a bit jelly king in elite mode and you will find.

running sewer stash is actually much better for just elite orbs. not great for crowns, especially if you just run through and smash boxes, but you get orbs fairly often.

I would argue there's the "do-able" section and a "you can do it if you spend the next months/years towards that do-able" section.

Getting a Celestial Orbit Gun, the white rose set, the silver colour, celestial shield and a dragon pup would cost years of grinding.

Getting to 5* takes 2 weeks of top tier grind.

I'm more of a logic man so I prefer stable revenue over fluxtuating revenue. Farming for orb is farming for RNG. Farming for crowns to buy energy with said crown (if you didn't know, yes, you can buy energy from crowns. K is the shortcut to it) to then buy orbs is better in my book.

IDK if this still works but back when I was a noob (6-5 years ago) I was farming for JK and RT for tokens (Brinks in the Bazaar sell specific items for them) to then buy a Pulsar(RT) or Antigua(JK) and unbind it to sell at AH. IDK how profitable it is to unbind to sell since the mist got removed and if it's not, you can just sell it straight the Antigua for 3,500 crowns at a NPC if I recall correctly.

You can also control a set of ressource. I used to control Bushy Tails and Monster Bones since they were worth "a lot" and could be easily bought in bulk when I saw them cheap to sell higher at a slower pace.

There is a lot of way to go about farming in SK. The best advice I can give you. Find a good groups of friend that will make this game even better. When that grind switch is toggled off and you just goof around with your friends for a week and check your ressource you are like "wtf, how did I get so much cr?"

Good Luck, you are facing the easiest grind wall so far. I don't want to discourage you but there's another one at 8-2 and it's usually what breaks people. It's a MMORPG, you have to grind a bit to get to end-game :P

when i used to play you could evolve your hardware just by playing, now it's waste of time unless you can pay some monies...

it's fine to pay the devs, I used to buy stuff way before this grind fest the game has become...

but the main problem is you reduce the free2play population with this grind, and the game has less people playing, me included

boxes are random. you cant guarantee rarities out of them, much less specific ones. you could theoretically be incredibly unlucky and literally never find a single orb ever.

The reason seb is suggesting this is it's better to hit multiple boxes in a shorter span than to farm JK. It only yield 8 boxes after 15-20 mins of grind. While Sewer can be rushed through pretty easily compared to a boss.

Edit2: There is no right or wrong way to farm for orb, but there's definetely better options than others. You shouldn't corner yourself with one method is basically the point I wanna make.

No. You can skip a lot of grinding by paying, but the grind is quite reasonable. You're probably grinding the wrong things.
