for guns:
blitz and its shadow variant
iron slug
at least one antigua-style gun for speedrunning
any 5* alchemer for sequence breaking
for bombs:
any vortex (plain graviton is worst though)
dark briar barrage
ash of agni
dark retribution (DLC is good value anyways)
for swords:
black thorn blade or final flourish
any elemental brandish
acheron
If you want an Electron Vortex, you'll need to play a bit of lockdown / blast-network.
However, you can just settle with the Graviton Vortex or Obsidian Crusher - which both work fine to combine enemies together.
The acheron is a very powerful sword, and is useful in both PvP [lock-down] and PvE.
I recommend that you craft one at some point as it's considered as over-powered and sees use in almost every level where shadow damage is effective.
As for guns, i recommend that you get a Grim Repeater, as it's just a shadow version of the blitz needle.
It allows you to kill the Royal Jelly in a few seconds (especially if you combine a flash-charge with a maskeraith).
We also use it against the roarmulus twins because the burst damage has a high DMG output - making it useful for the boss fight and against battle pods!.
Lastly, i'd personally recommend that you get a polaris, as it allows you to have mobility when dealing with construct / undead turrets—and it also interrupts them!
if you arent planning on playing with other people, who cares, get as many pulsars as you want. but if you do want to play with other people, you gotta watch out.
also, wildfire is mostly better than polaris, as shock interrupts knockback.
if you want more orbs, either grind the orbs or grind the money to buy the orbs. 2* orbs are best bought, 5* orbs are best gotten through grinding and 3* to 4* depend.
you got enough 3* orbs from missions to almost make a full set of 3* gear, so you are more than prepared to grind T2 bosses for crowns.

or just go to the arcade.
According to the rarities, I guess I'm off to Rise or Fall, since I misread the value the first time.
The mission rewards are a seperate ordeal which was not being referred to at all.
You want to open as much loot-boxes in Tier 2, in order to get orbs.
That's what the suggestion was, and i generally would just buy those orbs.
Since you're a lower rank, it was suggested that you re-play missions for the loot-boxes which have a chance of dropping orbs.
Arcade, as advised is an option too.
ele brandish
blitz
you can go through the game with that.
Of course there are some other things everyone definitely should go for such as :
Iron Slug
DBB
Vortexes
Alchemer
etc etc
oilers in the boilers is not really a good level to farm orbs
It isn't? According to the charts the guy posted above it had the highest droprate of the orbs I need, at 0.29
