GFWL does not work at all for me regardless of how many hoops i jump through. It's a shame as the co-op/multiplayer in this game was very fun.
You can still play it as a stand-alone, you don't need the steam platform to play it, if you want to gain the features of steam in addition to playing it, you can add it as a non-steam game.
Retail copies cannot be used on steam, they however, can possibly be used on the Origin Platform.
2014 thread mate, Origin tends to have better luck if people want to run it off something than just the stand-alone launcher but this game does not work for everyone for whatever reason.
