[FIXED] Blue screen followed by corrupt save data
Self-explanatory titile. I had a few blue screens lately when I shutdown my computer so I didn't associated that with Avengers, but today, I was excited to play the actual Red Room event. Did my two Villain Sectors right away and then went on to do the first Red Room mission.

Well, too bad dummy, i barely killed the first wave of enemies that the blue screen popped up again. I shutdowned the computer, turned it back on again and launched Marvel's Avengers. Corrupted save files.

I'm not even that mad at this point. I always was unlucky with technology. The only thing here that really pisses me off is that the corrupted save files seems to happen EVERY major updates. I remembered a patch following Tachyon anomaly that had to fix this and i'm pretty sure Future Imperfect had it too. I managed to avoid the issue successfully until now, guess my luck ran out.

Now I just have to wait for the update that's gonna fix that issue AGAIN. Will we have to endure this every future content update ? I can take a lot before breaking, but I feel like this game is pushing over like no other before lol

Problem fixed.

I looked up online -what I should've done from the very beginning- and the solution was pretty much a mix of all the solutions brought up by people online.

1) Deactivate Steam Cloud (go to the game's properties on Steam, uncheck the box)

2) Go to Documents/Marvel's Avengers/[folder that's a bunch of numbers]

3) Get rid of profile1.dat, save1_1.dat, save1_2.dat, save1_3.dat and steamautocloud.whatever (cut/paste them anywhere else just in case)

4) Rename one of your savebk in save1_1.dat

5) Launch the game. If it worked, you can reactivate Steam Cloud so that your save is uploaded on the Cloud. If it didn't, I'm sorry =/

Your bluescreens are not related to the game; something else is wrong in your PC. Could be software related(drivers usually) or a hardware component starting to fail. Or just a broken Windows installation. There was lately an update to a new version of Windows 10, it might've gone wrong for you.

The game can end up corrupting your saves whenever it ends up suddenly closing itself from any error though, as you've noticed.

Probably, but it happened especially while playing Avengers, hence why I thought it may have triggered something in the computer that did this. I'm totally aware that my computer probably has issues of its own -as stated in my post- but the occurence of the event with Marvel's Avengers running lended me to think the game wasn't completely innocent.

Since then, it didn't happened again so all the better.
