eww no
So, no, that is not a substitute for what is being proposed.
Regardless, Marvel doesn't have much of a history of providing games where one can create their own character so there isn't much reason to expect that here.
Why would I want to play as Spider-Man for the umpteenth time, when I can be my own creation and fight alongside Spider-Man?
It's too out dated. If they updated it to better combat and gameplay, I would in a heart beat. Honestly though, I'd rather have less MMORPG and more deep story-telling. Imagine fighting beside the famous heroes, watching them fall one by one, etc. Would make for a pretty cool story in my opinion, but whatever.
But sadly, they going pokemon route for years.
I'm surprised they went with this game at all. They seem to be more interested in low effort, mobile game cash grabs.
