The Game Is Poorly Monetized For Me, Compared To Other Games Like This, They Focus On Cosmetics And Now Xp Boost. There Is No Battle Pass, No Seasons Or Seasonal Seasons (Like Halloween Now In October) No Events.
They Have To Keep The Game And They Only Came Up With The "Best" Way To Increase Profits With Minimal Effort And Personnel For Their Own Development.
If It Were Another Type Of Monetization, Maybe There Might Be Fewer Players, But It Would Be Healthier, Now Only Those Who Are Passionate About Fashion Play.
I remember a certain person who kept on insisting this would never happen I wonder how that person will spin this in an attempt to defend this move.
Everyone with a lick sense predicted this once they nerved the xp.
I mean, it COULD be a problem if we had to go to the shop to progress in the game, but we don't. We never did. Leveling up is still as easy in the game as it ever was. The xp nerf the haters keep bringing up is nowhere to be found. And they do weekend XP events. AND consumables are being given for free in the marketplace and in Hero Challenge cards. Where is your problem here ?
I could also had on top of all of that that the consumables don't boost anything significant. Fragments ? Useless. XP ? As I said, leveling up is no problem.
If the consumables suddenly stop being given for free, yeah it'll be a problem. Not for the game, it'll be playable still for the reasons specified above. Just in terms of transparency and consumer-friendliness. But we'll have to wait and see for that. So for now, there's nothing to complain about.
Oh just give it time, the white knight of Marvel Avenger is probably coming up with some sort, of random facts on he believes to be true, as we speak. Just wait for it. lol
It doesn't matter they said the cash shop would be cosmetics only this iisn't the first time they made a promise and then spat in the players faces.
If you like the game, play it, if you don't, don't. If you want to spend money on the game go for it, if you don't then don't.
While the P2W term doesn't apply as heavily here as say what you mentioned, the PVP aspect or especially when it comes to mobile games....players now have the ability to spend money on something that will help them progress faster in game than others that would choose not to spend money at all. Hero challenge cards (outside of the initial 6 Avengers included in-game) still cost 1,000 Credits ($10.00) which is a premium currency obtainable via purchasing with real world money.
While they do still tend to give away a consumable in the marketplace, the question is now for how much longer? This game had both Premium Marketplace & In-Game cosmetics. While they claim that the reason they basically shut down the in-game cosmetics (the one you could get withOUT paying real world money for) in order to re-work the cosmetics system as a whole, it sure has not stopped them from releasing recolored outfits & selling MCU "Inspired" outfits at the price of $15.00 each.
Like others & myself said when they introduced the Consumables to this game, it was only a matter of time before they started to sell these & will most likely be a matter of time before they stop giving them away for free.
Also, i'll add that the boosters in Hero Cards are free, you don't need to spend 1000 credits to get them. I already got some of the ones available in Black Panther's.
I agree that the situation is concerning, but everything you just said... is just speculation. Unless you tell me you have someone inside CD leaking you intel, but I doubt it xD
My real problem is that you (and other people) immediately jumped at the game's throat on the forums the second you saw the boosters in the marketplace, but they're still obtainable for free and you can't prove that they won't be in the future. Mistrusting CD's decisions towards the game is entirely comprehensible, its history isn't the prettiest. But calling out scams and the death of the game any chance you get isn't the right call and doesn't help the situation in any way, shape or form.
The maximum champion level 375 would benefit a solo player fighting Super Adaptoid but it's a team only mission. With 4 maximized characters, OLT would become as easy as pre-champion level missions which would make those missions mundane in the process. There is no point in high champion levels when the entire game can be completed with a group that has low champion levels.
Devs need to release content that gives me a reason to maximize champion levels before I'm convinced consumables are beneficial in any way. I still have all of the free consumables. I never felt like I needed them even though my highest CL is only 64. Bascially, I couldn't care less about consumables.
Here are all the free consumables I ever received:

And that's fine seeing the glass only a certain way, I was once like that with this game when it. First launched (beta) and bought into the hype that SE was feeding everyone. You can check some of my first posts to see that I even myself was championing for this game and defending it just like others around here still do. Just making a point about the challenge cards as well, making sure people understand that they aren't just FREE like people like to think and that they actually cost money, even though they give you premium currency in return, it still has to be used in game on other premium content.
Part of the problem with leveling up quicker with all of the consumables would be the question of why did they make changes to the leveling system then to begin with? They originally said they were going to slow the process down and then we get introduced with consumables, which helps increase the progression of leveling up quickly...? Isn't it a bit counterproductive to their initial goal, unless it was part of their plan to start pushing the use of consumables to the point of introducing them as premium paid content.
As I stated above, I defended this game when it first came out and have changed my view and opinions on it over time with the "PATTERNS" (inside cosmetic joke) that the game has exhibited over the course of time. They have made numerous promises that have either been outright cancelled or "DELAYED" to a later date. As far as beating the game to death and pointing out negativity when it should be addressed...I will say that when I gloated about the game and gave positive feedback, it was never listened too and no one even listens to the negative feedback as well. Which proves another point....these devs don't listen period and even barely answer the fanbase question in their own streams.
You are correct about speculation and as pointed out several months back by myself and several others that consumables would be sold eventually in the premium marketplace. We were met with the same response of "that's just speculation" but here we are today and speculation became fact! Another point is the majority of the speculation that has been made by "negative players" has actually come to fruition more so than their promised Cosmetic Vendor rework or Loot overhaul being done. All they have shown is how to flood the marketplace with overpriced and poor quality content instead of putting focus where it should be like endgame content, functional multiplayer with cross play, actual LOOT in a LOOTER game, event rewards that are actually rewarding (not just a nameplate). It's clear (and has been for a long time) they literally have a predetermined mindset on what we are gonna get out of this game and even though they say "we're listening to your feedback and making changes based on it" when the sad fact of the matter is, they don't and they are not.
Indeed. But hey, now I get to say that I called it.
Ha, this made me wonder when I did & I totally found it;

I still stand by my Nameplate one too!
Yup, never used one. One of the saddest parts about this to me is that they are totally useless and there are going to be some game pass players that fall for it.
Lately(and sadly is like 5+ years) everything is P2W because if someone sucks, is not their fault but is because of the game.
In this scenario, is definitely not P2W, the advantage is not only obtainable in-game but is also VERY minimal. If is bad or not, is another thing. The only issue is that, technically, they said that the MTX would be only cosmetics. And that, for the first time, was an ACTUAL lie.
