restore old savegames in 6/18/15 update

[Argh!]

Running the new update appears to reset all game progress. Don't panic! Fortunately it looks like the problem is just a change in the savegame location. To restore your progress you should be able to simply copy the old file to the new location:

Old: <steam>\SteamApps\common\NightSky\Settings\Default.ini
or C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Nicalis\NightSky\default.ini

New WinXP/2000: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\nightsky\default.ini

New Win8/7/Vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\nightsky\default.ini

Note that to get the new achievements, you will have to replay the last level of each completed chapter for it to register.

Good to hear, it was disturbing when it happened to me. I was pleased to discover there was an easy fix. A second smaller update was released a bit later, maybe that fixed the problem.

I have no "Default.ini" file in the steamapps\common\nightsky folder... Maybe I can assume my saves were wiped with the update. I'm not terribly happy with this...

Oops! That's my mistake, I mistyped the dir name above. It's actually: <steam>\SteamApps\common\NightSky\Settings\Default.ini

I fixed my original post.

Found my old savegame in there! Thanks, KenTWOu! (although in my new save I've progressed way further than in my old one)
