Hello

I was excited to see that NightSky got OSX support and I was excited to install it and try it out. The only problem is that it crashes everytime I try to load it. If I attempt to run it through Steam, the icon appears for a brief second and then disappears. However, if I attempt to run it through the actual application it spits out this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled NightSky and I have also restarted my computer.

Same here, I know the game just released on Mac, but I'd like to get it fixed. I've played it on Windows perfectly, but I hate windows, so I would like to play it on OS X.

Same here. Crashes on launch. Sadly getting very used to this with Mac releases.

OP: Isn't 10.10.4 still in beta?
I'm still on 10.9.5 and while the game doesn't crash, it does exit immediately after launching, without even showing a window:

July 26, Syatem 10.10.4, still crashing on launch.

Guys, I write indie games for a living too. This is unacceptable and makes us all look bad. Please fix.

That was June 21st. It has not been a week; it has been over a month.

The port to your cross-platform game engine went live on June 18th, the bug was reported that same day, and it is now 38 days later and no patch or—far more importantly—communication. No announcements, no comments, no nothing.

What is happening, and how did a port that crashes on startup go live in the first place?

Okay, I've had some time to cool off and think, and I figure the devs will read this at some point.

Dear Devs:

What Mac hardware configuration are you using as your OSX testing environment?

Computer model; graphics card model; type and number of processors; amount of RAM; which version of OSX, etc.

What model of computer are you using as a baseline?

Go to the Apple Menu in the upper lefthand corner, select "About This Mac", and click "More Info..." and you'll get all the basic information: make, model, processor, memory, graphics, operating system. (Don't tell anyone the serial number.)

Then, if you want to go all out, click "System Report" and look at "Hardware Overview."

The machine I've been using for testing is a 2009 Mac Pro running Mac OS 10.10.4 Yosemite.

I haven't been able to get this crash to happen locally. I will try some different things to reproduce this issue.

Is that with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120, or an ATI Radeon HD 4870? And how much RAM? 8-core or Quad-core? The 8-core is Intel Xeon 5500-series, and the Quad-core is 3500 series.


I just downloaded the game again and tried again

Launching the game within Steam results in the icon appearing on the dock and then disappearing immediately. The game never finishes launching; it immediately quits and no error window.
