Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Does Frame Generation Consume any GPU?
Does FG use the main GPU for duplicating Frames?

When I have let's say 60FPS...

Then I turn on Frame Generation, you would expect 120FPS right?

I don't. I usually get 90FPS which means my base FPS decreased to 45FPS...

IMPORTANT: That only happens when I have 100% of GPU usage, otherwise I get double

So maybe duplicating frames is consuming too much of my GPU? (3070)

Yes, FG requires a bit of power of your GPU. I think the power required depends of resolution and a few settings.

Yes it's not free performance it just gives you extra frames that you're cpu can't generate and that your gpu can process faster than real frames.

For instance depending on your gpu you could have a game that goes 60-90 fps fluctuating but with this you lock it at 60 and you get a steady 120hz instead with the generated frames.

Or sometimes for instance X game only can hit 60 frames because the engine is too demanding on the cpu or what not like starfield in most of the intensive areas... locking the game to 60 fps and using the frame get to get 120-240hz depending on your monitor and your gpu can be a lot more ideal than dealing with fluctuating 'real' frames.

Yes they added a resolutions scale on the generated frames... if you aren't getting a steady 2x you can say lower the resolution of the interpolated frames to 80%-75% and that could be the difference.
