iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iVRy Driver for SteamVR

ProtectorX Dec 31, 2020 @ 4:04pm
Releaseed 12/31/2020 iVRy Driver for SteamVR (GearVR/Oculus Premium Edition)
• It's supposed to be the FULL (Premium) version of the iVRy Driver for SteamVR with Samsung GearVR and Oculus Go/Quest/Quest 2 support, to play PC VR games without needing another Headset for that reason. This was encouraging for me as a Quest-1 Owner (Not buying another headset) so I dropped $11 bucks on the it and completed the installation process.

Note the following For installing it on the Quest-1 for those who dont already know;
After downloading/installed iVRy Driver for SteamVR, it's stored in steam's default-download-folder location. I've used SideQuest's Utilities to brows to this location so as to run/install the APK File to my Quest-1.

In Headset, I've located the iVRy file in the "Unknown Sources" area and ran it.
I for the LOGO with Waiting for Connection, but doesn't connect.

Anyone have answers?!

To start the app on Oculus Go/Quest/Quest 2, use the link in the "Unknown Sources" section of the "Apps" menu. The app will be started automatically when it is first installed.

You will then see a "Waiting for Connection" message on the headset.

SteamVR should then be started from iVRy "Launch" button. At this point you should be able to use your headset with SteamVR.

If you are not able to get it working after following these steps, please provide the requested diagnostic information so that your issue can be resolved:

Is it possible to use iVRy with GearVR and USB Tethering?

GearVR USB port is OTG and so cannot connect to PC. You can use an Android compatible ethernet dongle and connect via wired network.

I have Quest, I bought and installed Ivry Premium, but the games start in color and in a few seconds it becomes black and white. A Lite version had been installed. Any solution to this problem? Thanks.

As per the Steam store description: 'The "Lite" edition has all of the features of the "Premium" edition, but will start to reduce color saturation after being connected for more than 5 minutes. Upgrade to "Premium" edition via Steam DLC to remove this limitation'.

Please note that it is not possible to use the Mobile or PSVR "Premium" DLC to unlock the GearVR/Oculus version of iVRy.

If you have purchased the GearVR/Oculus version of iVRy, and you are having this issue, it is most likely a Steam/Steamworks issue. To resolve that log out of and back into Steam and uninstall and reinstall SteamVR and the iVRy driver.

HEY Thanks! Just read your reply!
When I load the iVry in accordance to the procedure, (Headset 1st, then PC 2nd), the Headset DOES Connect, but with a "Switch Controller Message" After clicking, (Whether OK or Cancel) the PC side bombs out and the Headset goes dark and then back to the iVRy Logo/Connection Waiting screen! (?-!-?)

After some keyboard muking to test different settings, I finally for it to work/SteamVR home screen to load-up! Albeit with some sporadic jitters. I attempted to load the "Unknightly" game but the controllers were unresponsive for the in-game load screen!
(Another topic for another time)

As for the reduce color saturation, this did happen even though I've "Purchased the full version" , therefore I believe there's some files/version conflicts going on! So I'll now proceed with your Resolution! BRB to share "Proper-Loading" results, (Assuming), so as for others to review if having the same/similar issue.

OK, BACK! Here's my dilemma;
DID reinstall SteamVR (Success)
Proceeded to reinstall iVRy and have the following situation;

iVRy Driver for SteamVR (GearVR/Oculus Premium Edition) states it's a downloadable content that requires the base application " iVRy Driver for SteamVR" on Steam in order to run. So, that I did! Then after running the SteamVR (GearVR/Oculus Premium Edition), the headset loading-logo did respond in showing the desktop. then the PC-side terminated as the headset blinked back to the loading-logo screen.

What should I do next?!

OK Sorry I've responded late, but just now I've sent (Emailed) the requested files as stated within the above link! Hope this helps as I'd really like to see this work on my rig.

The SteamVR ready test has me pinned off the chart, so I'd assume my system it all set. :steamthumbsup:

As for the Full Version of the iVRy for Oculus Quest, where is it installed?! Because after first reinstalling the Base iVRy, the Full Version doesn't seem to install but instead runs from the sales page. So does it Overlays atop the installed iVRy Base Version?!

PS, does the iVRy also allows for Oculus Quest Controller Binding?

Seems like virtually every VR-Game on steam that I'd like to purchase uses (Or were designed for) Oculus Rift Touch-Controller!

Ironically, for some games this defeats the purpose of trying to QUEST them through the iVRy if the results for the Controllers are the same because they cant be remapped/rebined!

Lastly,
I've unplugged the cable to allow for the Wifi. When I get the SteamVR Grid-Screen after iVRy loads and bombs, nothing else loads at the grid! however, I could bring up the SteamVR menu screen from my left controller. Just not through iVRy unless I'm observing this wrong.

I can load games (Still having controller mapping issues)

I just don't know if SteamVR was called up through iVRy or on its own.

This is important as the Rift is being discontinued by oculus

Unfortunately for me, some of the VR Games I've purchased were "Dated" and coded for the Rift Controllers (so it seems) as some of the quest buttons did work.

Bummer I was so blinded by my love for these VR game that I didn't read the find print!

All the "Launch" button does is start SteamVR, whatever happens from that point is up to SteamVR (sometimes it does not start SteamVR Home for some reason, that's a Steam issue, you can always start it manually from the Steam interface).

You'll need to explain more carefully what you mean regards controllers. Are you referring to Oculus apps run via ReVive?

HEY! Thanks for your response! But for now, I just want to get the iVRy to run (Successfully Launch) and will deal with the controllers later. (Think I'm getting ahead of myself).

Teaching moment: >> The iVRy isn't a standalone program, but rather a Launch-Pad for SteamVR (so to speak) that's pre-configures the environment under which SteamVR will launch for use with select VR Devices?!
>> Thus giving reasons for the different iVRy download versions, depending on which device/method one intends to experience their "VR" with!

This now explain to me why iVRy returns to [Start] after launching on the PC side.
But while within the Headset, the iVRy Loading-Logo does respond by showing/entering the SteamVR environment (The infinite grid) screen. I wait for an extended length of time for the SteamVR Home screen to load and it never did! Just seemed to be frozen on the blank grin-screen.

I went to put down the controllers and accidentally hit the left menu button and brought up the SteamVR menu screen! (?????) I so did not expect that!
But, was able to see/access my Steam game library. But when launched, the game's audio was only coming from the PC Speakers and not the headset!

Though just before, all intended sounds were from the Headset!

Enable the "Stream audio" option in iVRy settings.
