iVRy Driver for SteamVR

iVRy Driver for SteamVR

AdamLee May 22, 2019 @ 4:13am
PSVR Wont change From 60hz to 120 or 90hz
I have the headset in direct mode, but the colours are all washed out mostly the blacks look greyish, SteamVR reports it as 60hz whilst the iVRy menu on the dashboard says its at 120hz but my colours are still washed out and everything blurs when i turn my head??

Is there anyway i can fix this?

When i was using Trinus the colours were perfect but the program is just too unreliable, So i Bought iVRy as its much better, just need to fix this one problem,

My GPU is a Nvidia GTX 1070
CPU is a 4690K @4.4Ghz

Thanks

(Have sent an email with Dxdiag, VRCompiositor.txt and VRServer.txt With this message attached)

I'm not sure what is causing this, it seems to be an issue on a very small subset of installations, where the graphics driver or Windows is ignoring the monitor EDID information (which specifies the refresh rates). The workaround is to set the driver mode to "Extended", exit SteamVR turn the PSVR off and on again, go into nVidia (or AMD) settings and add the 90Hz and 120Hz modes as custom resolutions. Then go back into SteamVR, set the driver mode to "Direct (VR)", restart SteamVR, exit SteamVR, turn the PSVR off and on again and add the custom resolutions again (Extended and Direct modes use different monitor profiles in Windows). That should then cover you for all driver modes and refresh rates.

You must to buy the product in order to see the correct colors

I have bought it, i meant the colours aren't as they should be due to the headset being in 60hz as it messes the colors up..

i have managed to fix this now though, after uninstalling everything including the Graphics drivers and also trying follow the developers instructions and was still not working

I ended up deleting the config for steam VR Within (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config) and its now working :)

Glad you have it working! That is a bit weird (deleting the config). If it happens again please save the config file before deleting and send it to me so I can see what caused it.

As you've seen, the 60Hz mode on the PSVR has very washed out colours. That's a "feature" of the PSVR and there's not much that can be done about that (apart from running it at a higher refresh rate).

So it did actually happen again and deleting the steamvr.vrsettings file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config made it work again so im guessing theres something within the settings causing this;

I will send you an email with the file now along with this message now so you can have a look.

I expect this line in the "steamvr" section is causing the issue:

"preferredRefreshRate" : 60,

I'm not sure what is setting this (or what is changing other settings in that section to values that are not "normal"), but it's certainly not something that is happening commonly.

I have the same problem since the new SteamVR update. AMD rx470 gpu amd ryzen cpu. Will try removing the settings file but it might have something to do with the new steam update.

Did you try removing the file? and if you did, did it work?

Yes and no. The only reason that worked is because steamvr defaulted to extended mode in 90hz. However, extended mode is really buggy for me. Once I put it in directvr mode again, it goes back to 60hz. Will send Ivry my debug files soon.

confirmed: When installing steam 1.3.23 in the properties beta version pull down, directmode works again in 90hz. It has something to do with the new steam version that made AMD motion smoothing possible.

Try setting:

"preferredRefreshRate" : 90,

(or 120). iVRy is doing that anyway in "Direct" mode. Will have to pick up a PSVR from somewhere and trouble-shoot this soon (away from home and mine until September).

After it goes to 90hz use the ivory app on the task bar or in the headset to change it to 120hz and it should work,

ive also updated to the beta and i've had no problems yet, so will see how it goes

I already tried that, but steam will delete that line everytime I add it. Some values seem to get overriden when I change them, not just that one.

Are you deleting the whole line or just the part that says 60?

after deleting just the 60 out and updating to steamvr beta ive had no more problems

I can't get my All In One Android VR headset to work with Steam VR, every Ap I try just hangs connecting, I try with Wifi and with Tethered, my system passes Steam VR test, I don't get this, what is blocking the connection? I've tried Triinus, Vridge I.E Riftcat Ivry, Kinoni the only thing that has worked so far is Kainy but that doesn't work with Steam VR and doesn't do VR.

Please create your own thread for this, it is out of place in a discussion about PSVR. Also, please provide the information requested in this topic:
