Running on Steam Deck
Looking at info for this game on ProtonDB, it says it recommends something called "Protontricks" to help with the cinematic's. Does anyone know how to install and operate protontricks? Do I also need Winetricks for this to work?

I played through the entire game on Steam Deck. I had no issues with the cinematics. I would recommend using the latest Proton GE.
