TCS III on Switch vs PC?
I've been wondering which platform I should buy it on. I know while PC has potential for higher graphics and smoother gameplay, it is not as portable or as easy to "pop and play" as say a Nintendo switch lite. So I'm not sure which platform to purchase the game on. The concerns I have are as follows:
- Portability
- Smoothness/quality of gameplay
- Save Data bonuses (you'll understand if you've played TCS1 and TCS2)
- Future ports
-we know PC has japanese audio option. Does Switch have japanese audio option?

What do you guys think?

There is no save data bonuses in CS3.

The smoothness/quality obviously PC is superior. The switch port is 720p/30 fps vs +1080p/+60FPS in PC.

Portability... you can play CS3 in a laptop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Future ports? probably CS4 will be out first in PS4. I dont really know.

I think there is an option where you can play with japanese audio in switch too.

PC version will be better graphically.

Only plus the Switch version has is it's portability.

All versions have dual audio and likely will going forward to later Trails installments. If you played CS1 and 2 from what I have seen CS3 is a upgrade from those gameplay system although I prefer the gameplay in in the Sky and Crossbell games, CS is a nice step up and very sleek to play and CS3 is a step in the right direction. With the port quality handled by Durante and PH3, we are in for a quality port on PC and will likely be even more smooth running than PS4 and Switch since I have heard several complaints from users where several areas make their PS4 or even PS4 Pro chug, slowdown, etc. so I am questioning how some of it will run on Switch even with lower targeted areas with 720p 30fps. Only advantage to switch is if you really need that portability. Also, Cold Steel 3 did not get save bonuses from 1 and 2, but 1 kai and 2 kai(the PS4 remasters) were released after 3 in prep for Cold Steel 4 and the PS4 remasters had save bonuses if you had Cold Steel 3 sava data on your PS4, don't know if this was kept with the PS4 localizations of these games since the publisher differences, but probably won't mean anything since the PC versions of 1 and 2 are based on the PS3 versions since the PS4 versions weren't out yet from when they were released. Cold Steel 4 does have save bonuses if you have Cold Steel 3 though.
When CS3 comes out on the PC, I can play it on my phone via moonlight or steamlink. Can't get much more portable than that.
The switch version should have dual audio but if it's like most switch games the Japanese voices will be a DLC due to the space limitations of the cart.
Im just gonna say even the PS4 version has a few fps drops in certain areas. Can only imagine the switch version will have even more fps drops on top of looking worse. The price of portability will be pretty high. If you want the collectors edition stuff then that might be another reason to get switch.

PC version has modding potential and will have better resolution and frame rate.

I'm definitely going for the PC version. Portability isn't an issue for me since I own a gaming laptop.

PC

Durante's work on the port of CS1 and 2 are amazing so I expect CS3 to be just as good.

Also be forewarned that the text size of CS1 and 2 on Vita is terribly small, so small that I had to go buy the PS3 versions in order to read the text without looking close up and squinting.

Not sure if the Switch will have the same issue. I would wait and see first.

PC dominates this series. Turbo mode will save you hours and hours (i heard it will be in III as well)

They added turbo in the PS4 localization of III and will likely be in the switch version as well but I believe in the advertising there will be more features tied to turbo like speed and skipping certain animation likely

PC = mods = improve things in the game

Its really easy. On pc you have the entire Trails collection available(Cold steel, and trails in the sky). On Switch you have nothing except the latest. Also switch games dont tend to go cheaper over time, like on Pc.
