The sheer moronity of how, once you reach delta quadrant things become 10 tiems harder is undescribably. also 3-4 different in game currency, overcomplicated and overbloated rosters, R&D and duties + never properly explained mechanics on how to get certain perks ...... I'm here to play a game not work a second job! I love star trek and I love the story in this game but unless you got the nerves of steel or a wallet of gold DO NOT PLAY! .... also the utter unimportance of your faction once you're done with intro missions is a big waste of oportunity

i got star trek online lifetime subscription back in 2011 because i love star trek and i have gotten my monies worth outta it.
that being said the game dose have alot of issues and the biggest problem i have with this game is the Price of ships in C-store and mud market that cost real money, i get the game need a cash shop but they cost way to much and u cant grind for any of the ships in the C-store and loot box ships use (keys that also cost real money) unless u farm in game money which takes forever to save and buy a key, u still only have a 1 in 250 chance to get a ship which is outrageous or if u dont cough up the real money u miss out on some good ships with OP Gear items or status or crew layouts with theses ships.
Ship combat comes down to the ships status or crew layout with items or gear, Tanks build or Dps Builds are the only things that matters
shields dont matter, i have yet to see a good shield build with over 3000 hours played
Ground combat is not great
the stories and events are great
each year by doing events which happen once every 2-3 months, 5 times a year, once u complete the year event, you get free lock box ship of your choice and lobi crystals that you can use to get a t5 ship and sell it on the open market for in game money if u need in game money (this is the only really good thing about this game).

over all star trek online is okay its not great or perfect its very star Trekkie if your a fan

its just not worth the price in 2024
