Hard mode is too easy

This is a fatal flaw for the game. I like everything about the game except that it is way too easy -- such that it has gotten boring. Sad.

This game has a lot that's good : unique, fun combat system, and excellent immersion/nostalgia factors. Good characters and story, an open world....

And it is so easy that just got boring. There is never any danger of dying in the open world, you can just clear entire camps of 20+ enemies. There are never any tactical decisions you need to make in combat - e.g., hide behind this, finish that enemy first - because as long as you press the right button (one button) in response to the telegraphed attacks, you will win.

Even if you only use basic cast, on hard mode, you vs. 1,000 enemies, you will win if you can successfully press 2 buttons--> roll and cast.

You just walk into a camp and clean house, no real prospect of ever dying. Trolls? As long as you can roll, you will win. I'm not even talking about edurus potions or any of those (only time I used them was once, for the quest).

This is so easy that it has gotten boring. I realize some people like to play a game where they feel invincible, and that's cool, but I find combat satisfying only if there is some risk involved... so it really begs the question why they even have a hard mode if it isn't going to be challenging

It's not a FPS and doesn't need to be. It's a predominantly casual IP that is geared towards RPG and causal game players. Yes, combat is easy, but that's not the point of the game. Not everything needs to be a From title.

It's not a Fromsoft game just because there is the possibility of losing a fight occasionally. Even Super Mario Sunshine had that. I'm just saying there isn't ANY challenge... On hard mode! You will die maybe 10 times in an entire playthrough and two of those prob because you AFKed.

It ruins an otherwise great game because the gameplay and combat just get boring -- when the combat system itself is pretty cool. But when you're invincible the system kinda doesn't really matter because you will win the fight no matter what you do. Shame.

Hard mode is pretty unforgiving and for a good number of players I've talked to they just choose normal because they don't enjoy nearly dying from being looked at funny. Additionally you can make the game harder via self imposed restrictions as well as other changes in your gameplay. You have the freedom to choose how you approach the game, so use it.

If it wasn't for my girlfriend saying that she doesn't like seeing my ancient meter full all the time, I wouldn't use it. I much prefer to just find ways to beat my opponents with combinations. Hard mode makes this pretty punishing as you don't have an easy out when a big enemy pops up, or in a situation where there are a lot of enemies swarming you and each enemy is capable of taking you to almost 1 shot.

PS. The game gets significantly easier after you invest in your skill trees. But if you wanted to you could have just chosen not to invest the points.

It´s easy for experienced players, casual players find it pretty hard to constantly switch between spells, parry or roll and maintain the camera focused on +5 enemies surrounding you.
It was easy for me too, but not for my gf, she stuck with the easiest difficulty and still was struggling on combat confusing buttons.

There are mods to make the game more difficult, or you can make up your own rules to make game more difficult.

In gameplay yes, however instalation and getting to work is harder on old ones.

NG+ please. Let me play, on HELLA hard, with all abilities from the start if that makes it more "tolerable". Just let me have the option to not play in my sleep please. I've not died once, I've never been close to dying once. I've played some dark souls, no veteran. This game was made for casuals and kids, only.

and this game is not even comparable for dark souls. Not even elden ring.

This game is built for players who don't really play games much, except that one mario run 30 years ago and an ocasional farmville clicking. ''Pro'' players will find it lacking, boring, easy, unpolished and subpar and even mods don't realy help it much as there is not much interest in it aside from it being best harry poter game. It is a cashgrab, really :d
