PC's Stance on Blood Purity?
Considering this game takes place roughly 2 years before Dumbledore comes to Hogwarts, and a century before the events of Harry Potter take place, I wonder how the wizarding world's stance on blood purity is going to be depicted in the game?

I mean, we can join House Slytherin, so it seems extremely unlikely that our character is going to be a mudblood. Either they're a pure blood, or at the very least half blood, given how the house has historically rejected muggle born students from being granted membership.

Not only that, but it's been confirmed the game has a morality system, where we can go down the road of good and evil. Even going so far as to learn and wield at least one of the three unforgivable curses.

So my main question is whether or not we as a player will have the option to support, or denounce the idea of witches and wizards mingling themselves with muggles?

I do hope the choices we make / dialog options will support this. They could even go as far as letting us choose our blood status during character creation for that to have an impact on the game.

It would be so cold for me to be playing as a black wizard i the 1800's and have the nerve to hate on muggles...

"We dont like your kind around here son." My black character to some random english man.

As I said, House Slytherin has historically been known to forbid muggle borns from being sorted into its ranks. So the fact that we have the option to join their house means it is extremely unlikely we'll be a muggle born.

Didn't Slytherin want to feed the mudbloods to his basilisk?

Anywho, it'll probably be swept under the rug, as ya do.

You don't have to be a bad person or evil to be in Slytherin. You could be light side "Jedi" and still be in Slytherin or full blown "Sith" and be in Hufflepuff. Maybe your a goodie two shoes and like the color green and snakes.

Yes, I know that's the case. But remember, this takes place 100 years (at least) in the past. Even in Harry's time, the wizarding world was still mired in prejudice. So it stands to reason that society may be less open minded about things.

the view on blood purity in wizarding world has always been fluid from person to person, hence why Slytherine left.
Because his other 3 coworkers were against him.
So the timeline doesn't matter

false, Slytherine didn't want to do this, but the sorting hat does not give a damn.
Forgot about Tom?

Tom was a halfblood. When I say Muggleborn, I mean specifically Mudbloods; those who come from two non-magical parents.

Also, Tom's lineage was a direct descendant of Slytherin's bloodline, meaning he is quite literally the heir of Slytherin.

From what I understand of the story so far, the PC is not a magic user. The PC was not invited into Hogwarts until his/her fifth year. The PC was not invited at age 11 which indicates the PC is not actually a wizard. The PC can use an arcane form of magic however. So, the PC is probably not pureblood or may have been born a squib (oh the scandal). I'm guessing halfblood at best.

They could be a transfer student or something? Like that one Griffindor companion, who mysteriously has a very noticeable accent compared to all the British students. If she's natively from Africa, then she should have been invited to attend Uagadou in Uganda; not Hogwarts in Scotland.

I doubt we'd be a squib, as that would imply our magical gene is dormant / recessive, and thus we wouldn't be able to wield magic anyways.
It would be so funny if you got sorted into Slytherin as a transformer. The irony would rust, crumble to dust and dissipate into the air before it gets to these people.

Not necessary, the lore of Harry Potter states clearly that some families choose home schooling.
Of course it could also be what you mention which is a bigger headache but we know Joan likes headache

Wait, why would our character being able to use Old Magic mean they're probably not pure blooded?

The whole blood purity thing is just a myth in the Harry Potter world anyways. The ability to use magic is passed down genetically. Your bloodline has nothing to do with it. Nor does it affect your upward potential for using magic, as we saw many times throughout the series. Snape and Voldemort were both half bloods, yet became some of the most powerful and skilled wizards in their fields.

Magic being a quirk of genetics also explains how Squibs exist, as it's simply a case of the magical gene failing to activate. Which presents the amusing idea that at some point in the future, the Dursleys might have a grand child who awakens as a witch or wizard.

Actually, probably not so amusing. Given how Harry's cousin was raised, they'd probably abuse the hell out of them.

Yes you do. The fandom has this bizarre idea that Slytherins can be like, normal people, but if you actually read the books literally every Slytherin character is a psycho wizard nazi that is cartoonishly racist all the time. It's the Evil House for the wizard nazis. That's all it. It's where all the cartoon supervillains go for the good guys to beat.
