What am I missing about Summoners Court?
I've tried this over and over, but the opponent's balls slow down as they roll toward you. mine always start at full speed and just keep going, the only thing I can control is the line tey start on, and after that, I can't find any way to direct their path or speed.

I only give it the shortest possible tap to get it started I'm not holding down the button or anything, but it just keeps going.

How are you supposed to control it, moving my mouse around seems to have no effect at all.

This is driving me crazy.

Press the button once to start the cast, press it again to end it. If you don't press it a second time, you will just keep pulling

Position yourself at angles to avoid balls/obstacles knowing the ball will roll in a straight line (aside from where the ball will be pulled inwards by special plots on the board), and pull the ball. Your objective then is to release the spell at a point where it'll stop rolling [ideally] on the 50 or 100 point squares.

You can't control direction other than with where you stand, and you cant control speed other than when you stop pulling.

You're over complicating by mentioning "special plots" and 100 point squares. If OP is still stuck on this game, they won't have unlocked any of that stuff.

Tap once to start, tap again at 3rd space from last.

I did briefly consider that before hitting post but more in the context of whether I consider it a spoiler or not, landing on the different difficulties of a big board game not really being a spoiler. Nonetheless, think it still probably worth mentioning as a very brief guide for OP going forward. All you can effect is starting position which OP should keep in mind when he gets to the swirlies

Hi, the whole problem was that I didn't know that hitting the same key again would make the ball slow down. Once I know that I won first try. Thanks again for the information.

Now I'm trying to win the broom competition, I've come within 10 seconds but have not won yet. Some of these things are a little harder when you are 84.

Wow, I'm impressed.

The second broom race, Sweeping the Competition, for your second broom upgrade, will be difficult for you.

I did it in 2:22:80 using mouse and keyboard, but I had to practice for two hours.

Not easy.

First competition I was able to beat the 'trial' no problem, but was unable to get first place after 3~ orso attempts. I assume broom upgrade will make these easier to do?

84 and not a typo? Congrats on still gaming! If I live that long I hope to be lucid enough to keep on.

My first RPG was Avatar the Black Gate, my first MMO was Ultima Online, and I played the first Tomb Raider the week it was released. I've finished every Tomb Raider since, multiple times since then. My long-time game buddy (he played all these games too) was 86 but he died last year so I'm kind of on my own now.

Broom trials you really only have to beat the character that gives you the talk before each race, no need to score top spot, I only did it first time and the rest I was all 2nd spot on the leaderboard by mere hundreds of a second and still got the achievement.

For the broom race, I am pretty sure you can't - reasonably - get first place without 2 or 3 broom upgrades. I recommend you just beat the qualifier then try for the record once you get to winter or spring. :)
